Supermarket Pet Hate

:rotfl: Reminds me when my nephew was a kid I used to run around the supermarket with him lying on the shelf underneath with one arm outstretched a la Superman - hangs head 'Guilty m'lud'
Mind you it was twenty five years ago.
Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0 -
I don't mind kids in trolleys, at least they are out the way of the aisles.
Don't you put your veggies in a bag??? I buy loose but never just put them in the trolley i use a foodbag as trolleys are kept outside overnight so think about what else is on them other than kids shoes.....
my pet supermarket hate is groups of people standing chatting in the middle of aisle facing their trolleys so that the isle is blocked, fair enough seeing friends and chatting but position your trolleys so you dont block everyone else !!0 -
Person_one I'm talking about the ones eating a whole roast chicken whilst walking around.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

ps i have opened juice before paying, when its a hot day or even not a hot day - when you have a thirst and need a drink i dont see what the problem is - so long as you pay for it at the till?
how that can annoy someone i do not understand.0 -
My kids are quite good in the supermarket, they like helping anyway. They are getting that bit older now though, so no tantrums, not that they had many but having a tantrum would definitley be 'gay' now *sigh*
I was in Waitrose recently and an older 'gentleman' had a go at myself and the cashier for taking too long! I was waiting to put my pin in the machine, I don't know why but sometimes it takes a while in Waitrose. So, I was watching the 'eggtimer' on the keypad and chatting with the cashier and he piped up from the queue -
'Can't you shut up and hurry up, you're taking too long' - said in a very posh voice but in a very rude way! The cashier said Sir, I'm still serving this customer' in a shocked way. He said she's too busy talking and she's holding me up.
I said sorry, it's not my fault, have a nice day, and left.
I don't know why but it really upset me and I cried a bit when I got in the car!
So, my pet hate is rude old men who think their time is more important than mine. And... rude people shop in Waitrose aswell as Asda!£608.98

I hate this too – and when the cashier seems to think it’s a race to see how quickly he/she can scan my items!
Or, conversely, when they take their sweet time about itI once was quite rude to a cashier and told her to get a move on as I was in a hurry
She was being very slow though and looking at my goods as they were going thru......0 -

I've honestly never ever seen that.
But so what anyway? Does it hurt you? Do you definitely know they haven't paid for it? Do you know they haven't asked the deli staff who've told them to just hang onto the label so they pay later? Do you know if they've eaten anything else that day or if they have a medical condition?
Seriously, the world becomes a much much nicer place when you stop letting completely insignificant things like that bother you.0 -

You are probably customer 1899 out of 3467 they'll see that day, all in a never ending tedious parade. Cut them a little slack!
I don't care really what number customer I am. I'm just as important as customer number 1 or 1000. They're there to work not chat to their colleagues. That's what tea and lunch breaks are for. My first job was in a supermarket which I absolutely loved and we were taught that the customer always comes first.0 -

To the bolded, yes, which is not particularly important!
Who cares if some poor sod working in a supermarket fawns over you? Do you really need their attention?0 -
As a parent of a 4 year old with another one on the way. I completely agree i dont understand why people let them stand in the trolley, the seats are there for a reason. I'm sure if they fell out and hurt themselves they would be complaining to the supermarket.
Regarding the whole family going shopping, again i dont understanding it. In asda today there was a family with 3 kids, 2 walking with 2 trolley, just taking up all the aisle, shouting at the kids. I do take my DD with me if i have to, but TBH i would rather go on my own without DD and OH, it takes less time and costs me less.Mummy to Isabella - March 2008 and Daisie - September 2012:A - November 2011 (mc)0
