Supermarket Pet Hate

There's a solution to this problem Op: Waitrose. I've yet to see kids jumping up and down in trolleys (or zooming up and down aisles with them) in our local Waitrose. Sure, you may get the odd tantrum and some yummy Mummy growling "No Tabitha, we're having sushi for lunch today. Chips are a treat!" but in general things are a lot more tranquil.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

I hate this too – and when the cashier seems to think it’s a race to see how quickly he/she can scan my items!0 -
Often seen at the start of (and throughout) the school holidays are parents screaming, swearing at (or even slapping) their children in the shops or on the street. Generally this is in the form of threats to do something if they won't behave that is rarely, if ever, carried out.
Children (often siblings) pushing, shoving and kicking each other while parents ignore them.
Young mums with little ones ignoring them while they talk on their mobiles.
You've certainly started something OP!:rotfl:
Oh and I just remembered fat, sweaty men in vests and shorts!0 -
My pet hate is supermarkets. And kids. And trolleys. And till workers. Hence why the OH is currently...shopping.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

Good point! I must say I've noticed bad behaviour a lot more in Asda!!0 -
I hate people who leave their trolleys randomly blocking an aisle,
people who stop for a catch up with other shoppers right in front of a whole section of shelving and kids pushing trolleys.
I also dislike checkout operators who move sooooooo slowly, one of us isn't being paid to stand there!
I dislike people who suddenly stop directly in front of you, and for some reason in a supermarket I become invisible
Why do people suddenly lose their manners when in charge of a trolley?
I have told my husband that if I was ever likely to go "homicidal" he can bet on it being in a Tesco0 -

When I see one parent with kids in the supermarket, fair enough. Can't leave them at home. But why on earth do people go there with both mum and dad and the kids? Why not one of you go to the shop and the other stay at home with the kids? Drives me up the wall when I'm trying to get round the shop and there's families there mooching around like it's a day-trip out for them.
So that they can learn about the outside world and how to behave in it when there are two parents there to supervise and make it a bit easier?
Children can't be kept shut in till they reach 18 and somehow emerge as fully functional members of society despite never having been exposed to anything! They're a work in progress.0 -
I hate pretty much anyone else who's in the store as the same time as me :DI hate it when parents ignore the fact their children are riding on an out of control trolley up and own the aisles, I'd never have let my son do that but maybe I should have, I have a theory that the ones that are allowed to run riot never grow up with confidence issues.
I also hate the cashiers having a chat amongst themselves, not so much on a big shop as I'm expecting it to take some time but in the mornings when I'm on my way to work I want to bang their heads together
I hate families that have no concept that they're not the only people in the store and hog the whole width of the aisle. And people that leave their trolley sideways on to the shelf next to them so you can't reach anything.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
My pet hate is people walking around eating things before they buy them.
You cannot be that hungry!
How do you know they haven't paid?
I get migraines and sometimes I need something to eat or drink immediately, I've been known to buy a sandwich or a can of coke, pay for it at the kiosk and then eat it going round with the trolley. I bet people with diabetes or other issues have to do the same sometimes.0 -

God forbid they get through their incredibly mundane, mind numbingly boring job by chatting to a co-worker.
You are probably customer 1899 out of 3467 they'll see that day, all in a never ending tedious parade. Cut them a little slack!0
