I must look like I know what I'm doing when I'm shopping because I frequently get asked, usually by little old ladies, "Can you tell me where the such and such is?"

    I'm always happy to oblige!

My husband's 6 foot 7 and shopping takes an eternity with him being stopped by little old ladies asking him to get them something down off the high shelves - bless 'em! Used to take even longer when the baby was still preemie sized - between the high shelves, and the "omg how small is she" and subsequent chatter as well!

I'm just glad those blooming minature trollies for kiddies died a death finally - the pillock in Asda management who thought they were a good idea needs tying to a lamppost and having psychotic five year olds repeatedly crash them into his shins for hours as penance.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

I seem to vaguely remember trollies with cosy coupe type plastic cars under them for kids to sit in? Or am I imagining it?

My lot are little sods when they get bored so I do the big grocery shops online.

I briefly worked in a garden centre that had these. Biggest downside was that often the parent didn't actually need a trolley, but (because they were placed right in view by the front doors) the kid was insistant on going in the car for all of 10 minutes - so these bulky trolleys would get abandoned all over the place once the kid got bored and wanted out. And then the arguments between siblings over who's turn it was to ride inside, the kids shooting in and out of the car almost tripping you over, grabbing things off lower shelves as they 'drove' past...
They had some benefits and did seem to keep quite a few children quiet, but not sure if the pros outweighed the cons!

What about the ones who are turning up at 5 pm these last few Sundays because the shops are open longer because of the Olympics? Have they not got anything better to do with their kids?

We have become a nation of sad sacks who take our kids "out for a trip" round Asda or Tesco

Luckily we don't have this problem as we're only open for an extra 30 minutes in the morning on Sundays throughout the Olympics :T
