Most of us know that it took an arm and a leg to try and invest in their 2007-2008 Cash ISA. Incredible inefficiency from such a huge organisation. Here we go again. What are people's experiences of trying to transfer and get out of this ISA after the first year? My new ISA provider has submitted the request to Barclays for the transfer and the 30 calendar day requirement has nearly expired with no sign of my money leaving Barclays. Forget Barclays as a reliable source of investment.

I'm in the process of transferring to NW, and it took Barclays around 2½ weeks to close and send the transfer to NW. NW's another story!

Barclays tend to mirror Base Rate changes, so I would be suprised if the Tax Haven ISA rate wasnt reduced by 0.25% on or around May 1st. :hello:

That would make applied annual rate 6.06% with a higher quoted A.E.R for those who have the monthly interest added to the account and keep the account open for 12 Months.

What's the best way to close a tax beater ISA ? Branch/phone/letter

What's the best market replacement preferably instant access... Tax Haven ISA?

Oh I forgot my ISA has a lot of money in so I need an ISA transfer which I suppose rules out the tax haven ISA, and also means I'm not looking to close the acccount as such.

I moved my Tax Beater ISA (albiet a bit earlier than 12 months) in March second week when I applied fo rthe leeds building society 6.1% 3 year fixed rate ISA and the ISA had left barclays by 2nd April. That was quick and painless unlike last year when I tried to move from Nationwide to Halifax. Halifax lost my application 3 times and each time i had to go in to the branch and apply.

Though I seemed to have lost interest for 2 days as Leeds have credited me only form the date that they received the ISA(4th April) I wonder whom I should claim the lost interest from Leeds or Barclays

Just returned from holiday and can report that my Tax Beater got moved into my A&L without any problem. I popped into a Barclays branch 3rd week of March to start the process and it took around 3weeks all in all.
