Im confused how long the 4% vantage interest lasts for - is it until 31 oct, a year after opening, or a permanent rate?

    4% on balances from £5000 to £6000 until 31st Oct 2013

    Thank you very much guys!
  • I love my branch.
Earlier it took less than 5 mins ( + 5 mins in the queue) to upgrade my 3 Vantage accounts.
Today, having spotted a slip up that my 6DDs were not evenly distributed, it took less than a minute to swap one over.
Waiting for interest to roll in next month on 3 x £6K.

Just as a matter of interest (pun) how can you tell if a Vantage account has been upgraded to 4%

I think this has been discussed many many times....

    1. call the bank and check
    2. check on the internet banking, press the upgrade button

Neither worked for me. Eventually I visited the branch again and the manager managed to convince me that the change had occurred. She apologised for the defect in the system.
Free the dunston one next time too.

The point of the 'upgrade button' not working is that your account is on the 4% AER. This is most likely not by design, but it is a reliable indicator.
  • Does anyone have any reliable info as to whether this means statement balance or available balance.

I have a Vantage account with £6k, and just spent £4k on my debit card. Am not sure whether I should top it up immediately (from savings earning 2.5%) or wait until it 'hits' my statement ? Of course, when I look online it shows balance as still £6k, but says only £2k available.

    Thanks

    Ted
  • I would be inclined to top up immediately as you do not actually have £6k available. I suspect that Lloyds will be quite strict with this account.

Can anyone tell me when lloyds pay their interest. I know its monthly, but what date is it on the month. Is it the 1st of each month, or is it from the day when the account was originally set up.

I got paid in one of my accounts Interest on 22nd then some more interest on the 26th from the same account and got confused. It seems to vary each month so far from what I can tell?
