I think I'll give it the rest of the day. Calling them up is a bit of a pain because the accounts are in my wife's name, so we always have to play phone tag before they'll speak to me. Interestingly, the upgrade button, although still purplish, is now called "Upgrade account" and it's not animated anymore. Obviously they're tinkering with the page layout - maybe they've fixed the issue (optimistic!).

Yep!! they have fixed the upgrade button NOT.. I am sure somebody on here will let us know when it is sorted !!

Much easier to keep the accounts in a joint name !!

Two of the 3 accounts are now giving the upgrade error. Hopefully the third will be along in a bit. Just taking time I suppose. Thanks for your replies.
Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.

"The monthly billing period for our Vantage customers is from the second working day of a calendar month to the first working day of the next. If this is different to the current monthly billing period for your current account, and you add Vantage to your account we will change it straight away."

I understand this to mean that it's best to cycle the £1,000.00 after the second working day? I sent mine through today so if the above is correct then I may just haul it back and do it tomorrow instead.

Incidentally - how soon after sending the £1,000.00 through can I bring it back in my other savings account? Don't want any funds sitting idly by and doing nothing!

Sorry, am new to this rate tarting and so really appreciate the advice and knowledge of others.

Yes, to be sure I'd wait until about the 5th of the month. The 1k can be cycled through the accounts in seconds. I've always done it this way and its not been a problem.

Thanks- I'll haul the monies out again - am away until about 10/11 Nov with no access to wifi :j:j but will go into the branch in the remote wee village and it over the counter (if they let me). Mmmm - think I need to stick £2,000.00 in my current account for the manual transfer as they may not let me do it from the Advantage Saver in branch. Will check it out.

    Thanks for the advice.

You don't need to traipse into the bank. You could hang on until you get back on the 10th before you do the shuffle. You have the whole month to do it in.

I have always moved my £1000 one day apart using a standing order. Maybe lost a few pennies but has always worked. I was interested to see above that there was an upgrade error on 2 of the 3 vantage accounts. I use a third party to check balances on all my various accounts and building society's and it is only showing the balance for only 1 of my 3 vantage accounts. Mind can see all three accounts when I go to the Lloyds site.

More thanks! I will be in a fairly remote part of Scotland so that's really useful to know.

    Cheers

Don't worry, it's the calendar month that's important.

Terms are: "Vantage Interest rates are tiered on balances up to £5,000. To get interest paid each month, all you need to do is: pay at least £1,000 into your account during the calendar month, and..."

Any day of the calendar month is OK, including 1st, the second working day is just when they pay interest.

    Hope that helps.
  • Check again tomorrow :-)
