    Well done!

If you're travelling to the Olympic Stadium via the tube, I can recommend getting off at West Ham rather than Stratford. It's a nice walk to the Olympic Park and you'll find street performers (I love the Nannies:D) to keep you entertained.

Also, the queues for security are almost none existant from the West Ham approach.;)

The atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium last night was electric.:j You are going to have a brilliant experience.

Still got athletic tickets for £50 in my basket for tonight but just can't request them :(
Congrats to those who got some. I'm so desperate to go, but after 3 days of solidly trying I'm not sure how much longer I can take. I guess there's only a few hours left until the actual event so I'll keep trying in hope!

Wins : McCains garden games set, 2xTickets to Alton Towers, Links of London friendship bracelet, 2xIdeal Home Show tickets, McFly album CD, Virgin Balloon flight for 2 with a case of ScrumpyJack cider and 2 ltd edition jackets, Powerboat racing experience, £50 Virgin voucher, Aerobie Pro flying ring & Rice Krispie squares, Tesco baby pack

Yes the website is awful, a real waste of time (in most cases) - I was online today and some tickets suddenly appeared. In the 2 seconds it took me to click them, they were not available - I mean, really? tickets for the paralympics are now doing the same. I'm going back to my MSE roots and watching it on telly instead...on the plus side I can see loads more sports than I would at the actual venue. I can watch gymnastic, tennis and athletics all on the same day...but then again, the games may as well be in Beijing/Sydney/Rio when you are watching them on telly.....I'm sure they will open up the park so us locals can have a nosey round after it's all finished at some point anyway (ha ha bet they don't).

I am still disgusted seeing the rows of empty seats but having read some of the posts about how hard it is to return tickets, and the scandal of unsold EU tickets, it doesn't surprise me. It's such a shame, because it's a missed opportunity for so many British people to be a real part of the Games and it's turned sour for so many. I'm sure there are loads of people who have had a great time, just not posting....

I would love to have seen athletics or swimming but, to be fair to Locoq, tickets for many, many sports have been easily available for the last few months until a couple of weeks ago. I got 9 events (most expensive was £60 and none were football) including several finals and could have got many more if my budget had allowed. And the last couple of things I've seen, had only a handful of empty seats even in the 'Olympic family' area. Sorry, I know this sounds a bit smug but I'm suprised at how many people say there were *never* any tickets available when that just wasn't true for several months. Not sure what more Locog could have done really.

The website does seem to be working a bit better now. It's updated and removed some of the sessions and cheaper tickets which presumably have been taken. I've just started a new search and it's saying 6 mins rather than 15+ before. Assume some people have just given up and gone to bed so it's quietened down a bit. A few people online and one real life friend have managed to get tickets!

if this is indeed true, then you do make a fair point.
However, my annoyance is not that all the events are sold out, rather than the website makes you think you may get a ticket, and you spend 3 days (see above post) trying to get them, only to be disappointed each time.

It's natural that people will be more interested when the event has started.

i live in the Lea Valley, ten minutes by bike from the Canoe Slalem. They razored hundreds of trees in this local beauty spot, took away our picnic and parking areas and fenced off all around the venue 18month ago. Locals are certainly NOT welcome there - local people I knew coudl not get tickets. For this reason I was very ANTI Olypics for a long time.

I can now see SOME positives but I reserve true judgement for the coming years to see what happens to these venues....I've heard they will charge £50 to go round the canoe slalem.....hmm...
