    You need to sustain pressure.

It's sad, but a presence at the nick that's dealing with it and a contact PC, with a name and a number will be your best friend.

Someone will say that advice wastes police time.
    No, it can get results.

I cocked up a few years ago, after 1/2 a lifetime buying and selling cars, sometimes as a wage booster, I got careless and bought my daughter a written of car,

Did a lot of digging, 5 visits to the police station before anyone took us seriously, but then. it turned out the guy that had given us a false address, forged the service history of the car, and even given a false identity, (he didn't even live at the property we viewed the car at ), was known to the police.

He got 3 months eventually, we lost a grand, but we felt better
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Thanks for the support :) Its now been a week since the police took my statement and I still don't know what is going on... the car cant be used with the light being smashed and its costing me money getting taxis and buses everywhere.
The police officer said its better for me to have the report with what the other driver said and if he admits it, but I still have not got any kind of paper work to give to the other insurance company. Its really annoying

It happened at 4pm so good lighting conditions and CCTV footage shows my car move with the impact. Their car has been back twice since then, but parks up the street.
Still no word from the police, I have rang and they say its still on going.

Does the cctv identity the other car or the driver?

Do the police have a copy of this?

If the vehicle and/or driver can't be identified you may as well repair your car and move on.

Police have photos of both cars and CCTV evidence + I have the car stopping at my neighbours house and dropping a family member off and they know who he is. The police said its a nice change to have all this evidence as a lot of these cases are just their word against ours...So I feel there is more then enough evidence to confirm my case.
I am phoning the police again this evening and ask what is going on....I might have to do the askmid thing that was suggested.

When you followed the other driver, you got their Reg No, so if you give to your insurer they will find out who his insurer is, or are waiting to claim direct from his insurer? But he as not admitted liability, as he said he was on holiday?

Yes but does it identify the vehicle? How close a family member are they?

The owner could still claim its not his car.
