I *love* my Uggs and leggings and floaty tops. Sometimes they're the only things I can wear that don't hurt.
However, they are absolutely the opposite of smart. I've got pyjamas that are smarter than my Ugg/legging/floaty combos. The only time I'd wear them for work is on Dress Down Fridays. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Uggs remind me of slippers....slippers are not smart and certainly not appropriate for work. To be honest...I don't think leggings are particularly smart either but that's just me!"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0

Leggings and uggs are not smart. If I'd turned up to work like that I'd be on a disciplinary.
If your worried about comfort, Clarks does some very nice, comfy smart shoes.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
I've just pulled some random pictures from tinternet to see some examples of workwear.
Picture 1 is how I imagine op to look. Very nice, attractive, young, good for a Saturday afternoon with friends shopping etc......
Picture 2 is female everyday workwear.
I dunno about you but I find it a little bit boring though it's perfectly acceptable and quite smart...
Picture 3 I like best because although the outfits are plain, they have colourful accessories so seem more in date and modern?
The shoes are much more attractive and presentable than uggs could ever be, I think this is what a customer walking in would expect these days?

I work for a large, well known company head office and we are allowed to wear Uggs to work, although we do have a relaxed dress code which permits anything except football shirts and tracksuits. If you have a smart office dress policy then I would agree that Uggs definitely aren't smart and maybe you should have checked this before wearing them to work. Did you not notice that nobody else in the office wore them and maybe took that as a sign??0

Is it just dress code or is there another reason why you are not allowed to wear them? I don't like them, but I wouldn't ban them.
I wear a lot of leggings in the office at the moment, because I'm pregnant and didn't want to spend a fortune on work wear maternity clothes when I have got more important things to save my money for. Previously, Fridays only, if I didn't have a meeting.
I had a meeting with a chap once who turned up in 3/4 length combats, trainers, a tee and an open checked shirt. I didn't click who he was at first. Someone asked me afterwards if he was off on his holidays straight after.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I was always told "Dress for the job you want, not for the one you've got".
I'd love to have a job where high heels and a business suit is required. As it is, I'm liable to find myself on all fours under a desk so trousers and a top are what I wear 99% of the time.
I agree with the poster who said that in 10 years you'll look back and cringe that you were flobbing around in suede furry slipper at work and thinking you looked the dogs."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
