Why not just run them over now and save them the slow death of emphysema? Do you do the same for pedestrians, workmen, buses, police cars, HGVs and anything else that has a legitimate right/reason to be in the road but not travelling at the full speed limit?0 -
one day a rodie is going to ride a long on a hot sweaty summers day and instead of reliving himself on his bike he going to urinate over you though your open windowharveybobbles wrote: »If a cyclist annoyes me (which most do) then they get covered in diesel soot as I pass them.0 -
ar·ro·gant/ˈarəgənt/
Adjective:Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities
Try cycling on the road. You will discover how ignorant many motorists are of their arrogance.0 -
Nearly got wiped out by a pleb on a bike at the pelican crossing at London Bridge yesterday.
He decided he wasn't going to stop at the red light and plow through the pedestrians who were crossing on a green man.
I see that sort of behavior multiple times a day. Along with riding down the pavement because they can't be bothered to wait at the lights.0 -
Agreed but it's not just the cycle lanes in Holland, but the design of the whole road structure. Also we should have the strict liability laws. Have a read of this web site.I think it should be encouraged as you say but we need a better system that what's in place now as we're not fortunate to have the cycle lanes in place that they have in Holland (which are fantastic).
Like the vast majority of cyclists I don't condone RLJing at all. These RLJing cyclists give us all a bad name, just to save a few seconds on a journey time.I've seen numerous near misses related to cyclists jumping lights
I walk to and drink in a country pub. I've seen many drivers drink 3 or 4 pints and jump in their car and drive off. Very little is done about this blatant abuse of the drink driving law.and I've seen and heard of numerous cases of cyclists driving while drunk and yet very little can be done.
Bike licensing doesn't work.Maybe not as strict a regulation as driver but some sort of licensing or database to at least track cyclists.
Because as the law stands Riding while unfit is not the same as Drinking and Driving. Why is it okay that a cyclist can get back on his bike the next day if he's been caught drinking and riding his bike?

Its been mentioned but you have to give cyclists as much room as if they were a car and also they are well within their rights to cycle 2 or 3 abreast. To be honest I don't like doing that as I like to know I can get on to the verge quickly, I have seen far too many idiot drivers who think they own the road.
The arrogance by some drivers on here is astounding, it really is.0 -
It appears that the whole cyclist hate thing is fuelled by a tiny tiny minority of cyclists, yet the cyclists on here would rather vent their fury at the car drivers.
Why don't you sort out the cyclists who are giving you all a bad reputation?Pants0 -

how is your campaign against bad drivers going?
bad cyclists = bad reputation
bad drivers = injuries & death0
