Sorry, have been AWOL for a few days due to work, by the ime I get home I'm so tired I can't think - and I only work 4 hours at a stretch but I just think I am getting old. Have to work this after noon as well, these 6 day weeks are taking their toll (agency worker so it is difficult to say no as the company has the habit of getting rid if you rock the boat and I need the money for now.) Need to sell this house and then I can tell them where to go.

Puppywalker, these olympics must be dreadful for you - you can't get away from it anywhere. Hope you get through it all OK.

Susan, hope you have had a good nights sleep, will you get to the car boot this weekend? Looking forward to seeing the updated photos of Molly.

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, and that of other people loosing loved ones to cancer.

I'm often reading at this time. My DH was fighting it for a second time and was doing well on chemo but then suffered an accute illness and had no resistance so he caught a bug in hospital and died in March. Several health professionals are hinting for me to make a complaint but I don't know, it will not help me to move on, so for now I have left it. I do need to question the care but not just yet perhaps.

I see that I'm not the only one taking time to sort clothes. I'm not too bad a taking the ones he didn't wear often to charity shops (best suits, etc) but everyday is still a no no. As for throwing anything of his in the recycling (socks/pants) well I can't do that either so I have several bags just sitting here for now. They alternate between the car, the utility and the hall - but never quite get further. I need to ask someone to take them away but don't want to put that on anyone else.

As for watching the Olympics, I just want it to be over. He was a coach for an Olympic sport and it is just too close to home. I just keep imagining what he would have said about all the results so I'm avoiding. He was so looking forward to it all.

I agree to doing as much 'paperwork' in the first weeks 'numb' stage. I got more done that week than any time since. Auto-pilot! Aftershave is a good idea. One of my hardest things was changing the bed for the first time. I've no idea why but it just felt all wrong and took me ages.

    Sorry to ramble

Welcome Puppywalker and well done for posting. So very sorry to hear about your OH losing his battle and, I agree, these Olympics must be a nightmare for you, as it is everywhere you go, and GB are doing so well too, which means more people are talking about it. Poor you, not able to share in the joy that GB success brings :(:(

Please subscribe to this thread and keep posting. It really does help having somewhere to put down your feelings, things you can't say to people become easier to say when you write them, and there is always someone about to listen

On this thread: We share our problems. We share our fears. We share our sorrow. We share our tears. We share our hopes. We share our joy. We share our laughter. We share our advice. We share our love :A

P.S. and by the way Puppywalker, no-one rambles on here, we may rant, we may type long posts, but we never class it as rambling ;)

Just popping my head around the door to say `happy weekend` everyone.

I have been lurking mostly this week as today is my sons wedding and its been so busy!

Susan you are doing so brilliantly Sweetheart and sounds like you and the girls have settled back into a routine. I hope you manage to catch up with your friends at the carboot too.

Welcome puppywalker...your post had me in tears so here is a gentle (((HUG))) from me too. We are all here if you need a chat, rant or maybe even just someone to say `hello`. Life is so hard at times and someone once said to me that we must just take a day, an hour and sometimes even just a minute at a time.

Well my thoughts strangely are mixed today. I am so thrilled than my son and his GF are tying the knot this afternoon however last night I filled in these divorce papers again...all 3 copies by hand:eek: ( I did them before but had no forward address to serve them)...this time I`m over 5 years separation so will go straight through. Feels odd that I am dealing with both ends of the spectrum.

Anyway...off to make myself look presentable...already admiring my nice red shiny nails as I type this...I never wear nail polish and I have decided that I really must make the effort more often.

Anyway...eeeeek is it that time already!!!

    Angiexx

Hiya Angie, hope the wedding is going well. Congrats to the happy couple :j And well done on getting those divorce papers done - one more thing from the past out of the way hun, that's the way to look at it. Have a lovely day petal

I took Molly to the vet at lunch time and they are pleased with her. Just a little swelling which I have to keep an eye on, but otherwise I take her back next Saturday to get her stitches out :j She was so good in the car again, just sat/lay on the passenger seat, not trying to get to me, which I thought she might, so I was pleased about that

It is nice outside so I am doing a little more washing so I can dry it outside :D
