Thursday: Steve and Andy arrived about 11am, put together my new oak bookcase, assembled 2 Ikea wooden shelving units, removed all my stash  from my walk-in cupboard, and then removed my faulty freezer, putting it outside. This gave more room in my cupboard so, after moving my fridge/freezer to the other corner of the cupboard, they put the 2 new shelf units along the back wall and we set about putting everything in better order and it looks so good :j :j :j :j
Friday: We cleared some things from the hall, taking down mirror, coat hooks, etc, and put a bureau and bookcase outside to go to the tip. While I was taking several bags of rubbish, cardboard and my broken vacuum cleaner to the tip, they cleaned up, washing down the woodwork and sanding it down. When I got back, I set about doing dishes and clearing up, and they put the first coat of emulsion on the walls. Later I took them out to local pub restaurant for a meal, as a thank you. They came back and cleared the stuff off my bed which had been put there out the way, and then got off back to a friend's house where they are staying
During the day, the freezer outside, which had been totally iced up inside, was very slowly defrosting and I managed to get one basket out every couple of hours or so. I did manage to get some of the food squeezed into my other freezer (fridge/freezer). I found 6 Chic Town pizzas and 4 packs of garlic bread from a Ben & Jerry deal   so we had 2 pizzas between us at lunch time, and the others are in the fridge for tomorrow. I have cooked a spatchcook chicken, a roast chicken, got loads of veg in slow cooker to make soup and I have 5 packs of Tosco Finest Sausagesin the other fridge which I will cook tomorrow and Sunday. Plus I still have ONE RACK OF LAMB
:j :j, a turkey roast, one pack of Tosco Finest Italian Meatballs
, and some whoopsied pork chops and rump steak .. and one pack of Lidl weekend offer chicken goujons .................... you may notice a common theme here
EVERYthing is either the old Tosco DTD, glitch or whoopsied, except the chicken goujons and they were special price :j :j
Unfortunately, I had 2 bin bags of stuff to throw outeither veg I couldn't fit in other freezer or use up, or somethings which had started to defrost and did not look good
At least I didn't pay much for any of it and have saved over half of what was in there
It was so cold here in the chilly breeze that there was still some ice in the freezer, even though it has been outside with the door propped open all day
It had been a good couple of days for meand the lads have done so much :A :A. Had a great laugh in the afternoon when I picked up the anti-freeze mat-thing which had been in the freezer and was trying to shake the water off it, when it slid straight out of my fingers, over my head, over the hedge and landed in the green/trees area outside the house. I was creased up laughing at what had happened, but of course, had to look in the window to see if the lads had seen me, and they had, and were laughing their heads off
As long as I ignored the bedroom and the back garden, I could actually feel like I live in a tidy clean house :rotfl: :rotfl: The bedroom is a job for the spring, when the wonderful Steve and Andy and Kit will be back to decorate it but before then I have to get rid of much more clutter and sort out what furniture I am going to have in there too. Oh, I got a call from Carpetr!ght and they now have my cushionfloor in stock and are coming on Tuesday to fit it :j :j I will not recognise my home soon
Today/Saturday: I had very little sleep last night, getting to sleep about 5.30am and woke up when delivery came at 7.30, but went back to bed till about 10am. But I have had another lovely day. I made sausage sarnies for Steve & Andy when they got here this morning - yummyStill got 3 1/2 packs of them defrosted in the fridge though   Then they got down to doing the 2nd coat of emulion on the walls in the hallway. As they finished that, and started the woodwork glossing, I nipped into town to pick up my new glasses, then to A$da where I got Tobelle and 2 Guylain Opus for me and them. Not a fantatic saving like some of them, but it was all I could find on the glitch
. The lads had finished painting when I got back, and we took both cars along to next village for washing/valet £10 each
I cooked another couple of Chic Town pizzas and we had them with salad for tea. 2 more pizzas in the fridge to use up  They are lovely though :j The boys put my mirror, cabinet, coat hooks, etc back on the hall walls, and I put my china donkeys back into the wall cabinet
We had a little sit down and chat before they went off back to here they are staying and text just before 9pm to say they had arrived back
We are going to see what the weather is like tomorrow and may go down for a wander around the car boot, but the boys are going to put second coat of gloss on and sort out my new tv, before getting everything back in place and tidy for meLooking forward to seeing them again tomorrow as time flies when they are here and I feel very relaxed :j :j

hi Beanie, 3dogs and all
Well we had a busy few days but to be honest it was a pleasure being able to help our dear friend, after all 3dogs is only too happy to help others in need.
Decorating of 3dogs hall is now completed, and hopefully the flooring will go down tomorrow. Not all the time was spent decorating, we did manage to do some shops in Tosco and Asda) plus a lovely meal at a restaurant/pub that we like to frequent when we are up there. A shame that the weather wasnt too warm as we could have had the windows and doors wide open. Luckily the paint was all water based so didnt smell too much.
Looking forward to seeing 3dogs again in a few weeks. HugsEating sensibly to try and lose some weight0 -
Posting before I get off to bed. Yes, Beanie, very busy few days, especially for the lads who have worked so hard
We did go to the car boot on Sunday, despite heavy rain, but jut had a look at the inside market and then had a cuppa and bacon/egg sarnie, before popping to Tosco, and then home to finish off the painting, sort my new telly out, and clear up
Steve and Andy did a great job of my decorating and other jobs I had ready for them, the angels that they are :A :A House really is coming together. My hall flooring is being fitted tomorrow, but I don't have a time for that yet, so will ring them first thing to check. Going to have a declutter in the kitchen during the day tomorrow, then try to get a workman in to fit a bit of worktop and a couple of shelves, plus fit my 2 ring hob in properly, into the new worktop
I didn't get to sleep until after 3.30 Sunday night but slept through till after 3 pm today   I was making up for my lost sleep and early mornings. I have felt fine today though, just doing a little clearing up after the weekend. The floor in my lounge is now clear  which is amazing, totally amazing   Only things that need to be in here, are in here, and all in their proper places. Totally decluttered :j :j Once flooring is down in the hall, that will be finished, with bureau/cabinet removed - totally decluttered too :j :j Stash/freezer cupboard is all sorted, though that will need decorating at some point too, but no rush
I just have to do a little at a time, then rest, otherwise my left knee and/or hamstring on right leg play up something terrible, so that is what I did today, a little bit here and there
I was 'talking' (text) to my Big Sis today and she is going to come down to visit before Christmas and will help me sort stuff in the bedroom. I told her she didn't have to but she said she wanted to see me anyway :j :j
Right, I am off to bed now, so goodnight - sleep wellMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Great to hear you are getting everything sorted - we have to start on our house as it looks like we might be moving in about two months:eek:
It's lovely that you have such wonderful friends to help you.
We've of to London at the end of next week to visit my DD and my brother who is hanging on in there, I don't think he is getting much treatment but he seems to be making the most of his time left - had a firework party on Saturday night. Wish we could have gone down for that but as it happens I have a shocking cold so wouldn't have been able to visit him anyway as his imune system will be shot.
Hope you manage to wake up in time for the flooring0 -

Give our love to your brother and tell him we are all routing for him JayJayI was actually up at 9 this morning, but the store didn't open till 9.30. I rang them then and they said I was 2nd on the list for this morning. Guy came about 10.45 and was there until after noon. He skimmed off the patches of old tiles and covered up the gaps with some spare tiles, and then laid the new flooring which looks fantastic. I am so pleased with it :j :j I went out later to take rubbish to the tip and then to Asda for shopping, posting my sister's card there
I haven't done much else today, just a couple of little jobs .... oh, and I went along to see Linda as I have been neglecting her latelyAfter that op she had on her knee, and some physio, she can now walk without a stick   though she had to lean forward quite a bit still to balance. Steve was astonished to see her get out of her car at the weekend and walk to him for a hug. She has been managing to drive into town the past couple of months and got her new Mobility car today, a Nissan Micra, and is really pleased with it. So much for the surgeons at K/Lynn who said the only option was to amputate
I hope everyone is OK  :beer:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12
