Woopsiequeen wrote: »Hi Susan.. you are definitely still standing
the dictionary has two definitions for standing
1) remaining erect and upright
2)High reputation; esteem: a person of standing in the community.
Even on the days when you can't managed the 1st one you will always have the 2nd. You are "virtually" loved and respected by so many on the forums and I look forward to following you again on your journey...oh just one more request..when you're on the coupon thread can you look for MOC's on tissues ..I might need a few boxes of these

Hi all
Hope all are well.
We seem to have so many simalarities even though we have never met, the Portsmouth connection, we lived there and you visit, Newcastle, daughter at Uni for 3 years so we visited and you lived there, and lastly the same b*****d disease took our husbands.
I can so relate to how you are feeling, its just so lonely, am doing 2 paperworky things a day, thats my limit before the sadness takes over. Have moved all the nasty medical things so I can remember the non-sick times, have also moved his shoes from downstairs as they were getting dusty. Not got the balls to tackle the wardrobe yet nor have I changed the bed sheets, but I must.
Sometimes it seems like I'm just waiting for him to come back from work, have not gone back myself yet, we worked at the same Hotel, him as chef, me at front of House. Don't think I can cope with not seeing him there ever again.
We will get back to normal Susan and we will cope, because we have to.
It will just take us a long long time, lots of tears, and lots of loving support from friends (both cyber and real) and family.
The boys are probably up there in their respective football shirts saying "Hows yours doing?" "blubbing again" "yeah, mine too!"
They will always be with us and would never have wanted to leave the life they had.
Take care all (especially you Susan)

Thanks everyone :A Perhaps I should rename this the Kleenex thread or put a warning in the title :rotfl: :rotfl:
I had a really bad night last night and just couldn't stop sobbing my heart out. I decided to take down all the lovely sympathy cards. Well, it was one thing to read them as they arrived and say 'argh, isn't that nice' but quite another to read them when already so emotional  I could hardly read the words through my tearsThen I spent an hour sobbing over the picture board I did for the funeral, especially of one of him sitting in his chair gazing adoringly at Bonnie, the dog we lost in January, as she played on his knee with her ball, just about to send it over the arm of the chair so she could go 'rescue it' and bring it back up there again. She was always on his knee, playing if he was awake, or sleeping if he was asleep, and this one picture in particular shows the two of them at their best
I went to bed, but could not sleep as I just kept crying. I eventually got back up at 5 am, still without any sleep, and sorted out the pile of bedding on top of Molly's crate and putting it all into the drawers I cleared out first. 3 black bags of Alan's socks, 'knickers', and long johns for the cold mornings when car bootingnow replaced with sheets and duvet covers. Then I moved some boxes so I could get the crate out into it's proper place, behind the door where Molly sleeps. I put some bedding in to wash in the morning, on delay, and then went back to bed, getting some sleep from about 7.30 am to 12 noon
I got up then and felt better in myself but a bit zombie-like  Had my breakfast cereal and finished off the paperwork I had to do today. After putting the crate in the back of the car, I went out, firstly to the funeral directors to pay the balance on the bill. While there I checked on the donations which will be finalised next week to be sent out, and there is about £450 there, so with the money donated to Ravenswood Pet Rescue direct online, and money to come from me, and in Alan's name, the rescue centre will get a much needed boost to their funds. They have been hit with some very high vet bills lately, so this will come in very handy to them
Having sorted that out, I went into town and notified Alan's bank of his death, taking the death certificate with me, though they said it would take about 6 weeks before the balance on his account would be made payable to me  Then I nipped into the council office for them to take a copy of the death certificate too, before calling at A$da for some dog food and a nice prepared salad for my dinner. I got a couple of the OJ, my first, but it was N/A on my APG, though I did get a voucher for £2.06 back :j
Then I picked up the dogs from the kennels and brought them home. They went crackers, tearing around like mad things ......... oh, just a minute, they are mad things :rotfl: :rotfl: Anyway, they are both sound asleep now. Bess on her Dad's chair and Molly on the sofa. I had to give Molly a good combing and will have to bath her tomorrow
Molly is now 7 months old and still hasn't come into season, so I rang the vets and booked her in to get spayed for Thursday, with Bess going in for her booster jabs then too. How I will keep Molly from jumping around and pulling at her stitches is anyone's guess   Help   :rotfl:
I have spoken to a couple of friends by phone today, plus had a long chat with my sister, and with Steve too, and I feel ok tonight. Just had to get that out of my system yesterday I guess
I'm off to catch up on the Tosco thread now, but will be back laterMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi 3Dogs
Sorry to hear that last night was so tough but I`m so pleased to read that you have got your `girls` back home with you.
Believe me that will make all the difference to those sad moments as they will pick up on your vibes and give you lots of doggie cuddles. There is something very therapeutic about dogs as you can talk away and I am convinced that the really do understand....and sometimes you don`t even have to say any words at all.
Keep taking every day as it comes and do little and often. Good luck with Molly at the vets...she will probably be too shell shocked for a couple of days afterwards to worry about stitches.
Mandyloo its lovely to see you posting Hun. What a lovely mental image of Alan & Nick smiling down at you and Susan...probably over a pint , Sky sports on the TV and of course Bonnie sat on Alans knee
Gosh look at the time!! better try & sleep.
Take care and have a good week.
