Definitely a social occassion :j
I had so many big hugs tonight from some of the 'longer-term' ladies. One young woman has lost 7 1/2 stone in just over a year and swears it was all down to Mr 3Dogs' encouragement and advice. I hardly recognised her at first as it was so long since I had seen her. She was so upset, as were lots of others, about Alanbut it is good to see how appreciated and loved he [STRIKE]was[/STRIKE] is

Hiya Spoony - nice to see you - don't work too hard petal
Evening everyone, today started off badly but turned out good. I made the doggies go into the garden for a wee before I went to bed, but they started barking at something. When I went outside, I found they had a hedgehog cornered. So that was what Bess was after the other nightI got the dogs inside and locked the back door, putting Molly into her crate and getting into bed. Bess kept trying to get outside, scratching madly at the backdoor and yapping, and Molly was unsettled in her crate. I couldn't get her to stop so just had to try to sleep through it - but I didn't succeed
I don't know what time they settled but it seemed to go on for ages, before I was able to sleep. Anyway, that's my [STRIKE]excuse[/STRIKE] reason for not getting up until 1pm
I did get up about 9am to let the pups out for a wee - no hedgehog in sight - and let Molly onto the bed when I got back in. She settled, after a few tellings off for licking my face, and just cuddled up to me
Arh :j
I had an appointment at the Job Centre about my ESA at 2.30pm but when I got there and explained about Alan passing away, he said I should have cancelled, so he deferred my appointment for a month. He also rang up about my money which hadn't gone into my bank yesterday, and told me that a payment of £400+ was going into my account today ?????? I don't know what that is, unless it is my Bereavement Benefit, but they told him it was money I was owed ???? Guess I will have to see if a letter arrives tomorrow and check my bank account online in the morning
Anyway, after leaving there, I had a good wander around the town centre, going into all the charity shops, and 99p Store where I got 6 lovely mugs with black and white pics of pups on them, and then to a local furniture shop to look at their bedroom furniture before calling in to the auction to have a look around and have a chat ...... and a hug
The porter guys there are so good
Feeling good by time I got home and caught up on here a little before taking the dogs out for a lovely walk in the sun. After more catching up, I realised I hadn't had anything to eat since getting up so grilled a nice pork loin steak and had that with a lovely big salad - yummy :j I've been talking to Kit and Steve on the phone too :j :j
Off for a bit more catching up now :beer:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi Susan
Thank you, I'll try not to, but you know me and work:o:o
It sounds as though you've had a good day today, despite the hedgehog episode last night, fingers crossed for no repetition tonight.
Great news about the payment, fingers crossed it appears tomorrow.
I'll catch up with you properly tomorrow but just wanted to pop in and say hi.
(((hugs)))

Hi Susan,
I hope you don't mind me stopping by your thread. I am relatively new to this forum, and I only just so happened to click on your journal. I am touched by your story and I am so sorry to hear about your recent loss, although I am sure many others will agree with me when I say it feels like I have known you years as I read your posts.
My father (not biological) passed away from brain cancer at 47 years old. I was 18, so 8 years ago now. He was diagnosed at 36, so he held on quite a while but the deterioration started long before he noticed, losing his balance, excessive sweating etc. I always called him Dad because he met my mother when I was 2, and pretty much raised me as his own. As well as my mum and I, he also had to say goodbye to his twin daughters, they were 8 at the time.
Anyway, this post shouldn't be about me. I am usually good with words, but I am feeling a little stumped....I just wanted you to know that your words have spoken to me. I also want to express my appreciation and thank you for continuing to show such a kind spirit after all you have gone through. To be able to inspire others in times of hardship, when others around you would crumble is testament to your strength and character. Alan is a very lucky man, and I am certain that he is so proud of you.

Hi Susan, hope you are getting a decent sleep.
Job centre people are a strange bunch but can be so kind when they see genuine clients. I was signing on last year for about 5 months and they were great to me but I uppose I was nice to them too (used to work for DHSS in a younger life so know what it is like to be on the other end)
I too lost at fat club (WW) yesterday - 1.5 lb. I have now got my 10% award so feel great. I need to put a little more effort into it though. Bought the Hairy Dieters book and am going to try some of their recipes. I think they would be good for SW too. Made the lasagne with leeks instead of pasta last week and even DS said it was great.
Haven't been posting as I have had a bit of a week - we have had another viewer to the house and it is nail biting as they want to buy but are waiting to see if they can get a motgage. Also work is being a bit of a pig and when not there I just want to sleep - they also have me finshing at 5pm for some reason (the phones are supposed to be manned until 6) and the traffic is horrendous. I have to drive from one side of the city to the other so hit it in all directions. So looking forward to selling the house and telling them where to stick the job.
Anyway glad things are going fairly smoothly and that the dogs are settled - can't let Kelso on our bed, he takes up all the room0
