    thanks all..

The teachers were told they weren't allowed to sign passports etc because GP's get paid for doing it and solicitors etc so they were not to do it, esp as they were inundated with requests to do whole families and it was interfereing with their work supposedly.. I had real trouble getting 1 of the teachers to validate DS1's bank account application.. and she has long since left.

recent employer.. .. it specifies in the last 5 years.. so no go. I don't think the uni would even remember me.. I managed 1 semester before succumbing to child pressure (it was only a few months after KH left.. they were ill, I was ill and it was not fun!) .. I am wanting to go back but thinking maybe something a little less time consuming.. but they want crb checks which I can't get through as I don't have a passport or driving license.. they lie when they say other stuff is ok as Id.. it isnt!..

I have 2 people I could ask for passport pics but I feel extremely rude asking as I've not seen 1 in 2.5 years and the other I rarely see but think of often and I just feel incredibly cheeky.. hi how are you as I've not seen you in 9 months.. will you do this for me please?

I'll sort something.. I am rather resourceful on occasion..

    Good morning to everyone. :)

Thanks for making me feel welcome yesterday. It's good to see a little more floor in our house after yesterday's HHC. I think my efforts were pretty lacklustre so I will try harder today!

Hope window cleaning will popup at some point as I've bought one of those Karcher window thingies and it's still in it's box.

    >Stupid question.. application form asking for 2 references.. erm.. who would I put???
    >I cant even apply for a driving license or passport as I don't know anyone to sign declaration things.

Pigpen, you have mentioned more than once that your children go to a church club. Could the club leader or the vicar/church minister give you a reference?

Here is a list of people who can countersign a passport application. The person (you only need one) has to be someone who has known you for two years and lives in the UK.
    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/travelandtransport/passports/applicationinformation/dg_174151
The list ("not exhaustive") includes dentist, pharmacist, optician, minister of religion, Post Office official, solicitor, nurse (which would include midwife) and funeral director. From your postings, I suspect that you know at least one of each of those.

Some might want to charge you a fee, but - as you say - you are resourceful!!! "Knitted cardy for your little'un in exchange for your signature, anyone?"

Or is there anyone in OH's family/circle of acquaintances who meets any of the criteria for the passport countersignatory? Grab them at the party and put a pen in their hand when they're in a good mood!

    Morning everyone

Pigpen..oops, sorry, I thought it was a job application not passport application. :rotfl:

Thankfully, the kitchen and dining room aren't too bad so hoping I can get them done quickly today. Me and DS are hoping to attack his [STRIKE]hovel[/STRIKE] bedroom today as it needs clearing/sorting before I can decorate it.

Looking forward to the HH me time, as I need to dye my hair as those damned grey hairs are poking through. ;)

Hope everyone has a great day, sending hugs and get well wishes to those that need them.

Good morning everyone. Welcome to newbies.

Well, I got stuck at the computer for hours yesterday, working, but I did manage to complete the flylady tasks and cross a number of things off my own list, so today I have to deal with:

    the new flylady list
doctor 09:00 (just a check-up re new medication which is working well)
    3 phonecalls
1 letter to my poorly friend (want to enclose a booklet so not email)
    1 birthday card
    3 emails
    book concert tickets
finish sewing up DGD's cardigan and do picot edging - my excuse to sit down and watch Olympics :-)
clean out fridge freezer before going...
    ...shopping
and persuading OH to get out of his armchair and phone the Financial Ombudsman about an unacceptable delay in getting a refund of several hundred pounds on an old store card. This item will take more energy than all the rest put together.

Can't buy new lightbulb for kitchen today as I will need to go to BnQ and their over-60s' card only works on Wednesdays - I've been caught out on that before - and I'm blowed if I'm paying full price on fancy "longlife" (?) light bulbs (the light fitting was there when we bought the house and is actually quite nice).

Hope everyone has a better day than yesterday. If the rain is back with you (as here) don't let it dampen your spirits.

    Morning All

Well it's dull and wet here today so I think I'll try and get as much done as I can inside the house. I've got quite a bit of paperwork to do as well.I'm also supposed to be picking a carpet up this evening and DH has asked me where we're going to put it until we get chance to lay it. Well I have no idea but at least if I've cleared some hotspots we may be able to put it somewhere. I suppose I'd also better start thinking about getting clothes ready for going on holiday and I need to sort out the clothes mountain that's in my conservatory even if I don't iron it all and just put it away. It's just been brought in off the line and dumped - underwear and everything - I've got no knickers in my drawer - they're all buried in the clothes mountain!

Anyway, have a good day all

    Hugs

Wet here today too. Plan to do some paperwork whilst it is quiet and dust the dinning room which is still nice and clear(ish)

PigpenIf it is for a passport then I've signed as a school Governor and they have gone through fine. I'm not sure if these things are ever even checked. Reminds me I need to do DS3's passport this week.

    see you soon

Mumto5 big hugs, at least they made the decision that you really needed to. Good luck sweetie.

Just done my HHC in the kitchen. The dog was giving me strange "What's going on here looks."

The rest of the list is:

White load (not sure how I'll get it dry today)
Ironing - lots to do, but I'll set the 30 min timer
Remove dogs coat by about half
Rediscover dining table from under pile of stuff
    Shopping
    Watch Olympics
    Look after Mum
Walk my dog and Mum's dogs
Clean out fridge. I have a feeling there may be something nasty lurking at the back.

Plenty more I could add but I am on holiday.

Have a good day everyone. :)

Frugal.. no it was for both actually.. I am trying to sort passports for the girls and me so we can bother OH's Dutch rellies.. Iona.. the twerp at the church hates me.. he refused to baptise the 2 babies he hates me so much.. he is a tool. Oooh... I know a midwife (OH's cousin) and his friend is a teacher (I just remembered.. he is the girls godfather), in fact a couple are.. and another is a pharmacist... shame we rarely see them.. and none are coming to the party I don't think.. I best hope his former employer in Middlesborough comes, his wife is a teacher.. but I don't think they are coming. No rush anyway as we won't be going until next year. Thank you xx

Leaped out of bed at 7:30 to get the bins out.. I JUST caught the recycle bins.. they were emptying next doors when I threw mine at them! PHEW!!! No bins and a party would NOT work.. I have decided a blue and black bin are being put round the back so people can deal with their own litter so less work for me I hope!

My back is really sore and my mouth too.. but I am mostly used to that.

Samuel ignoring DD1 apparently he does not find her amusing.
