Hi there! I've got to share this - and if you're not at all fussed about garden birds skip this right now!!
I had tears of joy this morning. Had put the usual bird food out (got a bird table and feeders on the cherry tree right by kitchen window) and I always put some on the ground for the low feeders. Well, I was idly waiting for kettle to boil and saw a flash of auburn feathers, which was the back of the female wren. Ten seconds later two little, round, plump baby wrens came down, hopping so fast they were almost slaloming! Mum flittered nearby all the time!
They jiggled up and down in and out all the plant pots, then the undergrowth of the tree - it's so rare (here at least) and so magical to see them - they are my favourite bird. They were there for ages, I watched until I couldn't see them any more when they went into the undergrowth.
Well, after all that I feel one squit better today, did S&S of the bathroom and kitchen, dusted a bit, and back to the Olympics now! Well done to the team GB Gymnasts yesterday, made me proud.
Good vibes to everyone, especially all the newbies (like me) and warm vibes to any poorlies; I hope your little girl is feeling better Bossymoo and I'm glad you feel a bit better Lamewolf. I hope we get a bit more sunshine for your trip out, have you decided on the venue yet? Sorry if I've forgotten anybody who's not well, I can't seem to scroll back up the lists.
Bye for now, R x0 -
I have to confess, I hadn't looked at the lists for today, I'd forgotten about them, but have just seen Nicki's post!
Quite by chance the dusting I did was in the kitchen, which had had a quick S&S anyway, so we are not too bad here at all.
Nicki, it sounds like your DD is doing really well - I'm so pleased for you. It must have been a lot of work as well as a lot of worry for you.
Like Bonnie, it's time for a cuppa (is mugga a word - I hate cups) I like mine LARGE!0 -

Rowan tree I for one am interested to hear about the birds - if Natty is lurking, she will be, also.:o We have a regular Wren visitor, but I've only ever seen her on her own - she seems to like to forage in the patch of violets just outside the patio door.:D
I too don't use cups'n'saucers - if I try to carry one, it rattles on the saucer awfully, and you're quite right, you can get more in a mug.;) I'm currently using a blue and white mug - white background with a blue Chinese dragon on it.:D I always reckon you can tell a lot about a person from their tea/coffee mug.:rotfl:
As for tomorrow - we'll see what the weather is doing in the morning, and take it from there.;)
Just had a spot of lunch, so must go and get on with something useful now.;)
Badger of course you can join in - welcome. Just do what your shifts allow; if you can do Level 1, pat yourself on the back for a job well done.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Welcome, Badger! *waves*
Good news about your DD's progress, Nicki! *thumbs up*
I have just finished emptying and cleaning the inside of the fridge before putting the shopping away. My DH bought this FF a year or so before we got married and probably never gave it more than a quick wipe if he spilt anything. Today, three years almost to the day after we moved in together, I have finally worked out how to take out the meat drawer (the hinges on the part of the lid which moves up a bit when you pull out the drawer are flexible enough - at least for now! - to click in and out of their sockets) and removed all the gunge down at the back and under the meat drawer, which I had been able to see but not reach before.
*Big smile*

Good morning
((hugs)) to Mumto5. It sounds like you know your rights. I hope you find another job soon & good riddance to them! And maybe throw a sicky or 2 - because of the stress they cause you
The hall, stairs, landing, bathroom, our bedroom & DS bedroom have all been hoovered - thanks to DH :T I need to empty the hoover now - as no one seems to know how it is done! It seems to be one of those jobs the fairies do
I have been sorting through our holiday paperwork (passports, insurance, etc). I found a handy bag/wallet to put all paperwork in - last used when we went to Florida in 2003! In it I found the map of Orlando that I had been looking for & £30 in cash!! :j It is an old £20 note, but the bank should change it for me
I think I will carry on with sorting out in DR as it is very dusty/cluttered in thereDH is walking the dog, and is then taking DD1 to work.
We all had the day off yesterday, and were thinking of paying a visit to the Olympic Park - just to soak up the atmosphere. Unfortunately, there are no tickets availableSo we went to Ikea instead, and decluttered some £££'s there
Ok - DR beckons....
Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them, esp LW0 -
Yes you have Helen
I've booked my speed awareness course as the paperwork's come through so that's 1 thing sorted. Better sort some dinner out then get back to the DR.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

DD isn't completely off crutches just yet
Its no crutches moving around the house, 1 to go short distances (like to the corner shop, maybe the local post office), 2 to go further distances, and her wheelchair if we're going to Mr A etc. But, what we're doing is taking the chair with us and she walks as far as she can, then when she's tired she goes in the chair for a while, and she sets a location when she'll get back out and walk again
HHC was put off as a delivery arrived and needed to be put away. I'm going to do one now instead.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
