In Canada (where I am from) women who meet particular criteria are given the higher dose for up to three months prior to trying to conceive as well...I'm not familiar with the NICE guidelines on this though so don't know if it happens here as well.

The 5mg dosage is prescribed in the UK for reasons other than miscarriage, I'm on a 5mg dosage and am 31 weeks now, it's to help with neural defects in my case. It can also be prescribed to people on anti-epileptics, diabetes, patients with a high bmi and a few other things.

Well judging by his one other post he does live on the isle of Aran in a housing association house and by his user name is called Andy
