I was secretly hoping, going through the pages that a reply would have been posted by Andy, so I can freely assume that his girlfriend is pregnant but it's not OP's. They have broken up after he discovered she is already married to their gardener, and it was their plan all along to get him 'out of the picture' for his money. He does, after all,pay £600 pm on tax. That is one big wage!

Or, she's so private she's not telling him.

Does Arran have good broadband service, lt's hardly silicone valley is it? Maybe he's got to wait for another bar on the signal before he can update?

    Happy moneysaving all.

Just sat here and read this whole thread because I wanted to know the outcome.

Who lives in housing association accommodation and pays £600 income tax per month? Generous housing association on Arran.

You need a monthly salary of £3680 per month (£44000 pa) to pay £600 per month tax so not that huge.

Is there any reason to be so rude to him?

Being a regular I know better than to expect friendly advice in this part of the forum but the OP is new so isn't to know how spiteful most of the posters in here are.

    Wow - just wow.

I wasn't being rude at all. I actually think (and I say this without trying to sound arrogant at all) that I'm a very measured, sensible poster. I do my utmost to help people from an employment law perspective, I spend time offering advice if I have experience of it, and I don't think I've ever been rude to anyone on here unless they've been rude to me. And even then, it was measured rudeness.

I have certainly NEVER been spiteful and I absolutely refute that part of your post. On here or offline.

I simply stated that that I don't believe he doesn't already know those were symptoms of pregnancy. If you list symptoms you don't know, then the question that follows is: "what's wrong with her". If you don't know they're symptoms of pregnancy (and very specific ones at that) then you have no reason to ask "is she pregnant".

That's just a sensible and logical approach, and my opinion on the issue. It's not "so rude" and certainly not spiteful towards the poster.

Why do most regulars think the board guides do not apply to them :(

Please be nice to all MoneySavers : There's no such thing as a stupid question and, even if you disagree, courtesy helps.
Please be sensitive : This may be a web forum, but you're still talking to other human beings.

And I repeat: I wasn't rude. I have an opinion which you may not agree with, but it doesn't make me rude.

The fact that the OP goes on to say that he said he didn't want kids but really does, and that they weren't using protection adds to the perception of a wind up. That and the fact that he hasn't responded since.

I give almost every poster the benefit of the doubt, but I didn't believe this story based on the facts that I was presented with. That doesn't make me spiteful.

No, not that huge, but surely no-one on that salary with no kids gets social housing?!

Unless, of course, he meant 'tax' as in 'income tax and national insurance' which a lot of people do when they talk about how much they pay in 'tax' from their salary - if that's the case he's on approx £30,650
