I've finally ordered some indorax the other day (sadly money hadn't allowed me to order it earlier!) so i'm hoping that will come on Tuesday then I can do the whole house. Things do seem to be easing up a bit though, i'm not getting bit much and the dogs are scratching less so maybe the bob martin stuff did have a bit of effect. We also gave them both a tablet the other night and that seemed to help a bit.
I also wondered if I can sweep the floors? My two dogs shed hair for fun and I have to sweep several times a day, please tell me I can sweep up still! My floor will be thick with it otherwise. Am I also not allowed to hoover my sofa? Because I do that everyday too...please say yes I can :rotfl::heart: Think happy & you'll be happy

Do you have a Furminator? If not consider one, you may be able to find them even cheaper than that. If you use that daily or every other day on your dogs you should be able to get away with not vaccuming or sweeping. The longer the flea product is down the more effective it will be.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Are Acclaim and Acclaim 2000 the same product? Brought the later from Amazon, the former turned up, they said it was the latest one. I have seen a couple of fleas after I have used this product. So much for 12 month guarentee.
Indorex is really really good. We hardly have any now, and only one of the cats is still scratching but he gets a touch of psoriasis. Gotta keep spraying though just in case, as we have seen 2-3 every now and then.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

There isn't a product yet available that will kill fleas in their pupal stage, hence why a multi-product attack is needed. As long as your home & animals are protected the fleas that subsequently hatch will also be killed before they get around to laying any eggs.
This is why I recommend hoovering thoroughly before you spray the house as the vibration and warmth encourages the pupae to hatch in th hope of finding food. After spraying don't hoover again for 1-2 weeks to allow the spray to do it's job effectively.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Just been reading this thread as now got an infestation...very annoyed as I dont understand how the cats could have got fleas !!, they're only 5 months and not been out yet or near any other animals bar to the vet last week to be spayed...could they have got them there ?. They did seem to start scratching after this visit.
Anyway, dont want to faff around with cans of stuff so decided to get a pest control company in. Any recommendations for london/essex borders ?0 -

Could have picked them up at the vet although they are usually good at preventing cross infections. Equally the flea eggs could have come into the home on your shoes or clothing or with a visitor to your home even weeks ago. Unless they have a flea allergy or picked up a huge load of fleas off a stray I wouldn't expect them to start scratching right away.
Have you checked if your local council offer a pest control service, this is often cheaper than a private company? Otherwise try Rentokil or any company that offers a guarantee of free repeat treatment if the problem is not resolved.
You also need to worm and deflea the cats themselves.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
yes, just been in contact with the council, they will do whole house for £90 with repeat visit if necessary so I'll try that. Did a quick spray last night just were I saw them so hope that keeps them at bay for a few days.0

Get a spot on product like Advocate from the vet, that will cover some worms as well as fleas for several weeks, eggs will still be hatching over that time frame. Most vets will dispense without you have to have an appointment providing your cats are registered there.
The guarantee is well worth it: I once moved into an infested house which the professionals had to spray three times before we were clear! :eek:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi all
My cats seem to keep getting fleas I have tried Frontline and now Frioplan (i think it's called).
I haven't seen any in the house so don't think I have an infestation (also no bites) but just seem to be able to get rid of them.
Any ideas?First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

The thread is well worth reading. If your cats have fleas your home is infested, the vast majority of fleas live in the home not on the animal and there will also be eggs and larvae to contend with. You often don't see them until the infestation is severe and not every human is attractive to fleas or reacts to the bites. As per earlier in the thread there is resistance to Frontline in the flea population, try a veterinary product like Advocate.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
