    * I have a house in the North with a dodgy lodger in. Will be let in the spring once she becomes Ms dodgy lodger PhD. I also live in a room of a house owned by a dodgy landlady (spotting a common theme) for now. Looking for a slightly less pedantic set up shortly.

    ** This month

    *** Mortgage £350 from November

    **** Maybe I should explain to lodger how the heating works!

    I thinkMs Dodgy is onto a good thing with her very low rent.
    is this in part because she looks after the house?

    Put in the wrong rent figure. She was on £220 plus half gas and electric, which is very good. Have put it up to £250 plus half gas and electric. She is an effing nightmare to live with but she will keep it clean, safe and not have wild parties.

    I can't change from charging her for a room to charging her for a house. I either need to keep it the same or chuck her out and have the hassle of having to do all the work immediatly and finding a new tenant. Plus this way I can stay at home at weekends until the spring.

    It works for me.

    Well it's interesting my life:rotfl:hmmmmmm.

    I'm in that horribly unsettled, not settled where I'm living, not settled in the job, not settled in my love life sort of thing. I'm living in a house where getting hot water out of the shower is a daily test, the landlady is passive aggressive, clearly demonstrated in her ubiquitous use of those cut out words 'Calm' 'Relax' WHILST NOT HAVING AN EFFING LOCK ON THE EFFING BATHROOM DOOR. Irony anyone?

    Sometimes I feel life is against me.
    Today I went to the library and printed out my draft SOA and Gargrave's SOA or I tried to. As some of you will be aware this is not a case of just printing it, more a case of copying to word, pasting and then printing. It didn't print because the black and white printer wasn't working. So I did the whole process again and it kept holding not printing. I'd just wasted 20 minutes. The librarian explained this whilst standing next to a sign saying 'Violence towards our staff will not be tolerated' So I had to go back AGAIN and do the process AGAIN and send it to colour 2! Very annoying.

    This weekend I go home and paint the bathroom ceiling and see the crazy lodger (rather than the crazy landlady here!) and go to the funeral of my ex-boyfriend. Oh joy!

    Anyway I hate living here but love living in the village. I think I am just a bit tired of how difficult things sometimes are. You lot get up in the morning and get in the shower and it's hot, I have no such certainty.

    In terms of the budget I think I will work it out on a daily/weekly basis for the daily costs. At present it looks like;

    Food £4.28 daily £30 per week
    Petrol for commuting £25 per week
    Sport £4.90 p/wk
    Newspapers £3.30 p/wk
    Entertainment £19 per wk

    The daily food is really simple at the moment because I don't want to cook anything at home;
    Porridge from MacD's for breakfast 99p
    Make sarnies and fruit for lunch £1.50
    Shop for something reduced at 7pm £1.70

    Don't you wish you were living my life?!!!!

    Sorry, will try to be more upbeat for my next posting.
