Other people do definitely do the same. As for feeling like a failure, well maybe, but look at it from a slightly different perspective: If either of my kids needed financial help, and I could give it, I'd feel like a horrible failure of a parent if they felt they couldn't ask for or accept my assistanceI'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Wise words from our Snaggles.
As ever.
I have got gumption. Determined to touch up...the cupboards (behave) so have just spent 20 minutes whisking the old tin of gloss paint!Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

So that's it. Kitchen cupboards painted with whisked white gold. Bizarrely has worked - no lumps. Who knew!
Going to paint the staircase and the bedroom windowsill tonight. Also need to install broadband on to the laptop so I don't go stir crazy in the house on my own at half term!
I forgot to tell you lot the other week...if your electric windows stop working it probably means your battery is on the way out.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

Heh, one of my electric windows has stopped working. Not sure if the battery is on the way out, but the car is, in general. Probably doesn't help that I keep driving it into stuff.

White gold sounds lovely. Glad it came out ok!I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. If you have any questions about debt management and debt relief under Scots Law, just ask.The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow.0 -

Didn't get the stairs painted but have painted the window sill.
So current state of play...Do tell me if you've nodded off...
Jobs left to do
Little bedroom - Clear out packed boxes, hang pictures back up so you can't see the squares of different coloured paint!
Middle bedroom - Paint skirting
Master bedroom - Clear end section ready for wardrobe man and clear bedside cabinet. Touch up edge of ceiling
Bathroom - Touch up edges of wall around holders. Clean /replace sealant
Living room - Flat pack bookcase
Kitchen - paint kitchen unit frames where possible. Clear out cupboards.
Cupboard under stairs - Clear
Garage - Clear
Ring - plumber for replacement sink and gas check
Ring - Odd job man for fence
So not bad really. A lot of little bits to do.
Also have a 'non rate hike' letter to send to Halifax in the next few days and to start checking out PPI.
Still tired but did sleep well for the first time in about two weeks last night.
Can I just tell you lot...you'll have gathered that things have not been great for me recently and I always knew that they were going to be particularly tough at this point. Here I am on a debt forum called 'Debt Free Wannabee's' with a debt that is only getting larger at present and sometimes feeling a bit despairing. You are such a great group of people, so so (soup) supportive and upbeat and sometimes when it's really crap just saying 'Bah'. It's been a real comfort to me.
Right end of sermon. Going to buy (see just proves my point!) a sink in B&Q and then get back to garage clearance.
