Window fitter coming for a look tomorrow (I am tidying at a rate of knots! )
Curtains are at the dry cleaners. I've just spent £10 on a teal fabric to form a bottom border.
Have sorted car insurance today. Got it with breakdown cover for £260 instead of the £334 renewal quote. Quite pleased with that.

It's even better Beanie. The window man has given me a price of £110 for the window and fixing the back door. I'd planned for up to £500 so it's brilliant.

Curtains back tomorrow. ....nice and clean.

Thanks Judi. Am struggling to find a mattress. Can only find two bed places, one named after a dog and another after the opposite of a nightmare. Have been steered away from the Swedish place.

I bought mine out of Arg0s - it's a Silentnight but it was cheapest there, sainsbos also did them but depends on vouchers and sales available at the time. You wouldn't be able to test in store though obviously...

Thanks Skinty. I'll print off a list from Argos tomorrow and go to try out at the showroom. :D

Right so you've sorted my mattress problem. Here's another slightly bigger problem that is stopping me from getting back to sleep.

I took promotion at the start of the year. It was commented on at the time by the new boss how reluctant I was to take the job. Also earlier in the year she was reading a book called The Chimp Paradox which is about your primative brain and mouth getting out before your conscious brain has engaged. Yesterday at a external meeting she made a couple of comments that were quite dismissive of what I had just said.

If I call her out for it at the time it looks like we're bickering. If I don't I feel a little bit diminished which is not good, especially not given my issues of self - esteem that are already going on.

Oh dear - that's a tricky one!!! If you say something at the time it does look like you are bickering and this may make her worse as she may not take kindly to one of her team pulling her up in public.

Was she pulling you up about something specific? if so is it something she feels you are not doing the same way she would? - so lack of understanding?

If I were you (and its only my tuppance worth!) I would note what she has said and reflect on how it made you feel - I would write it down - and then at your next meeting with her (do you have 1:1s?) talk to her about it - even if you don't show her what you have written it may help to clarify your thoughts! she may be completely unaware of what she has said and how it made you feel!

and be mindful that many things said by others are due to their own frustrations not the actions of others - she obviously has an issue with opening mouth before engaging brain - so explain to her what that means to you and help her get better at thinking first! Think of it as a public service explaining it to her!!! and good luck!!!
