Judi.....In more good news I found 50p on the office floor

So Judi people are still throwing money at me.........or my dad to be specific.
He rang me up yesterday. ...
Primarily it seems to have a go about not being in touch and check I'm okay with signing his power of attorney. He got really heated about the last time we spoke 22nd May. I then had to point out that the last time we spoke was father's day, 3 days before my birthday, not 22nd May.

He seems to have now realised he has missed my birthday and sent me £250 for a bed base. It's a lot of money. Too much? Over analysing ?

I second that! Buy the bed!! I have a weird relationship with my Dad too so probably would try to overanalyse the gift - but it is just that - a gift! It may well be a little more than normal because he 'forgot' but I wouldn't let it annoy me too much!

Shame about the rowing! It sounds like it was something you really wanted to do! I took part in a dragon boat race with work earlier in the summer and it was such a laugh that me and a colleague looked into doing it more - there are clubs everywhere! maybe that would be more fun (and less constructively critical!) - just don't call it rowing! Its paddling and the serious chaps got very aerated when I reputedly called it rowing!!!

Oh your luck must be rubbing off! I got a cheque for £11 the other day from and old bank account - over paid charges apparently!!! Every little help!!! BUY THE BED!

You know....I think you lot are trying to tell me something

Right I'll get it in the bank on Tuesday and get the base ordered. Then I can start going and bouncing on mattresses :j (sure I'll be very popular)

So have got to the bank holiday and it seems timely to review what I've crossed off for the year, particularly in the light of my brief foray into rowing.

    "I think I'll go for health and wealth aims;
    1. [STRIKE]Complete house purchase[/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Complete building course[/STRIKE]
    3. Clear all credit cards
    4. Reduce mortgage to under £88k
    5. Learn to swim strokes other than breast stroke
    6. [STRIKE]Train for a 10 k run[/STRIKE]".

Not too bad. Credit cards are now to be cleared at the end of 2017, tying in with the end of the CDL, or thereabouts.
The mortgage will be under £89k in about 3 weeks so that is going really well.

Thanks for the tip Judi. I'm just looking for fun ways to exercise and the rowing was a bit hardcore. Always felt like I was letting people down and when I was getting a hammering at the end of the row that message seemed to be being reinforced. Swimming lessons are still on the list for the year and I'll check out dragonboating. I need to check out boxing and yoga. I'm a bit choppy and changeable on exercise but I think that's alright if I'm not Jessica Ennis or Mo Farah or wedded to the idea of making it into the Olympic rowing squad.

Am spending a bit at the moment on the wedding at the end of the year and a flight to San Francisco :o over the New Year. Aim to have the spending card back to £0 before I head off for the wedding. Paid £100 off that yesterday.

Right....better go and check out some beds!

p.s. In other news have been accepted for Barclaycard 0% balance transfer card

    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Will shift that next week just as the rate for MBNA goes up from 0% to c. 37%

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Right....I can hear a bed calling :D Do I go and pick blackberries before ..........or after

Glad to see you have taken our advice about the bed!!! Collective nagging seems to work well!

Its true about banks - I have never had so many companies trying to lend me money - yet a year ago no one would touch me with 0% offers! Great news on the card though - that will make a difference with the reduction in interest

You have accomplished a great deal of your list! Well done

You know when something used to be good in your life so you return to it. Then you struggle to remember how to do it.......go out with a load of people who know exactly how to do it.........and you are the weakest link. At the end of each outing you get back and get told what you were doing wrong. ..followed by what else you were doing wrong......followed by "should I stop there?" "NO......its all constructive criticism "........and other things I was doing wrong.

Have just seen one of the novice rowers outside the supermarket. She said she agreed with everything I said in the email I sent to tell the others I was stopping. She was so nice I was nearly crying.

Just waiting for the cheque to clear....then we'll order the bed.

Have signed back up for September NSDs to help :D

Have also sent another email to the rowing club explaining that I won't be back and trying very hard to tell them politely where they are going wrong. Asked for some of my membership fee back again and pointed out they do know where I live.

This weekend I am shortening the curtains in the living room, making thick curtains for the bedroom and having a discussion with someone else about what I need to do about the draughts around the bedroom windows (Someone at work told me but it sounded so frightening I think I need a second opinion!) I may be scraping bits of old paint off the living room wall for a few weeks! This may well help with the NSDs :rotfl:.

Well.....I think that has been a successful morning  *

    * I'm not drinking beer by the way

    1. Activate Barclaycard for 0% offer :D:D
    2. Massively reduce available credit on Barclaycard :D
    3. Balance transfer MBNA balance £2259.95 at 36% APR plus 5p :D
    4. Set up direct debit for Barclaycard :D
    5. Correctly say call centre members name back to her after noting down time and date of call :D:D
    6. Take kitchen scissors out of drawer and cut Barclaycard in half :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

The available credit Barclaycard gave me was £7100 :eek::eek: What madness is this!
Required call centre question.... "Why am I reducing the limit?"
    "Well....because I don't need it".

Have bought a nice border fabric for the red curtains in the bedroom so that is looking good. That is today's job.

Tomorrow I take up the hoops on the living room curtains and put an additional lining in.

Now off to B&Q to get some paint removal stuff. Going to be a busy weekend!
