Keep getting telephone calls from the guy I sought an exhaust manifold quote from yesterday. He doesn't seem to understand that I am still hunting for one, and maybe a used one in good condition. I am struggling to understand why I should spend £300 on a part to fit on a car worth about £800 and will be sold next year!!

Right better go and see who has responded.

Have decided today that I like my solicitor. No, they said, do not cc the vendor's solicitor when asking for tests on the house, it's not good form. Send an email to the estate agent (who you have been told sometimes does not pass on messages to the vendor!) and we shall ring in two days and check they have passed on the message

I presume that he thinks that if he keeps hassling you, he will eventually get a sale. Has he tried the "if you don't get the work done, the planets will shift and we'll all die horribly" line yet?

Because he doesn't have to consider your personal economics - only his own.

It is the admin bod rather than the solicitor (makes a mental note to check this when the bill comes in!)

Going to a meet the brewer event and not doing well on NSDs....but will use £70 of my utility payment on the credit card and did source an exhaust manifold fir £70 rather than £250. Got them to send a photo to show the condition of it and the mechanic is happy with it.
Just have two tyres to sort now.

So having one of those :mad::mad::mad: moments when you realise someone is trying to stitch you up and MAY get away with it and you can't really afford for them to get away with it :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

However I have got my review to fill in for their garage and I am going to ring them tomorrow and tell them I am sending the exhaust manifold back. Have got my fingers crossed and am trying again(Must be one honest garage out there!) Will check out my sources for the part and prepare myself for battle tomorrow

As for debts, they are down but have not been helped by two days of socialising which frankly have been fantastic. One day at a brewers day and one day with friends on a narrowboat, which was brill but tiring (did get a text from a friend at a wedding saying "Where are you?")
