NAH it wouldn't work like that in my company brute force would be illegal but very effective.0 -

In your first post you are looking for a loan.
Then you are awaiting £100K. (Very nice, enjoy).
Above you tell us you have nearly all your income from the last 4 years.
Why not spend this on your holiday then?
It is a bit confusing OP.DF0 -

I posted here hoping for some practical advice, not smug, sanctimonious, hater style comments. The only mess I'm in is my health, which is the reason I found my income stopped. Fortunately, the FOS agreed with me. If I could turn back the clock it's my health I'd change not my finances. No frantic spending, just a much needed holiday that can old be taken in the next 3 weeks. Maybe I should ask those who've made judgemental comments (who fail to understand either PHI or the FOS) how much of your income of the last 4 years have you got left? Cos I've got nearly all mine !
Yes OP, i see my name was called out, so what exactly have i done wrong now, oh wait you quoted a post by Apples2 so did you mean to say Apples2.0 -

Good spot, it is very confusing0 -
I think it's along the lines of:
1. Got ill, unable to work.
2. PHI provider refused to pay up.
3. Struggled for four years with limited income.
4. Pursued complaint against PHI provider.
5. Complaint upheld, so last four years of income is now going to be returned by PHI provider as a lump sum.0 -
Just out of interest, how does your mental health, no income and the fos, all tie together?0

Still not sure why you are so ratty, I used your own explanation in the opening post to describe your situation.
My point in my first reply, my second reply and again now is that you should not be trying to grab and spend this money before you have it in your hands.
I used an analogy from my own experience (my mate and his van) to demonstrate how things you consider done and dusted.... are not always.
Lets suppose this company who the FOS have dragged over the coals are facing hundreds, if not thousands of claims such as yours. It may break them and force them into adminstration. Would your money be safe still? Would you still be assured of the money?
I still wish you all the best when it arrives but can't help thinking you aren't going to control it wisely based on this thread.

Off you go, up the wooden hill to get your jim-jams on!

I know of a case that sounds a little similar - it was for PHI but admittedly not for that size figure. It took 6months from the company being told to pay out to them actually paying the lump sum back payment, and for those 5months the policyholder only received the equivalent of the monthly payment that should have originally been paid. Luckily in their case they hadn't quite believed it would come until it was in their bank.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
