You'll be wasting your time asking the bank.

The Sangria will have to wait until half term I am afraid.

Sod the holiday. Put the £4000 away in a savings/emergency account.

Then the next time something breaks down/car needs replacing/family emergency/unexpected bill/loss of income occurs, you wont need to borrow and keep paying interest all your life!!

Only take your holiday when you have saved up for it out of your surplus income.

If you have poor credit as you put it then i cant see any lender wanting to know you since your history is poor.

You made a complete mess of things financially but now have a chance to turn back the clock and get back on the straight and narrow........ nope, blow it on a Holiday.

Until you are holding the money in your hand, it isn't yours, the last thing you should be doing is frantically spending it as fast as you can.

Nobody is going to lend you money on a promise.
  • I understand the holiday need but instead of a fortnight in the sun somewhere why not look at something near you like Butlins and the like. Might be cheesy and crap but if you guys haven't had a holiday for 4 years who's going to notice. It's the memories that matter.

If you blow all that money on a holiday rather than putting it somewhere safe then you will be back here in a few months looking for another loan but this time there will be no FO payout to cover you.
  • If you want a holiday, fair enough, but as mentioned above, it would be common sense (and cheaper in every way) to wait until the money hits your account and go during the next school holidays after that.

Apples 2 I've not made a financial mess of anything. Do u know what a phi policy is or what the Omdurman max is? How long would you survive with no cash, i had no debts and savings which is why ive come thru this, and now i have a big lump sum!I thought this was an ideas sharing forum not one for making rude, offensive comments ?

Are you saying you've been awarded £100,000?

You could focus on the tone of the first part of Apples2's comment or you could focus on the ideas they shared with you in the forum-like setting of the rest of their post. Because I think they made some valid points that you really ought to be listening to:
    • Until you are holding the money in your hand, it isn't yours, the last thing you should be doing is frantically spending it as fast as you can.
    • Nobody is going to lend you money on a promise. At least, nobody reputable that anyone in their right mind would borrow from.

You state in the title that you want the loan for four weeks. But you're already spending the money before you have it and who is to say that you'll get it in four weeks anyway? It may well take much longer than that to actually get into your bank account.
