Its not necessary to tell all the finance details to your kids, just you can tell a minimum that too not at teens. Teenage is where kids tend to change themselves and go for bad habits. So if you feel that they are fit to handle the situation, then you can tell them.0

Me & my mum had a total open relationship about money for as long as I can remember. I think this was because she had no-one else to share it with (we lost my dad when we were young). She taught me about bills & prioritising them & how to budget.
Also because I was listed as Guardian for my brother after I turned 18 if anything were to happen to her. She made sure I knew where all her pensions, savings ect were how much she paid in & what she got in return. I was even there when she took out a loan. SHe told me pretty much the cost of everything from holidays to the day she brought out first DVD player.
When she moved away in 2006 when I was 20 I took over the house we lived in which I ended up buying at 23. I knew every penny that I needed to pay as such I have never had problems with any of my untility bill.
I think our circumstances meant she was more open than my friends parents but I appriciated it and it taught me valuable lessons for life.
Looking at my Nan's I have often said I don't know how they would cope if anything happend to my Grandad's as they do everything for themFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
