PN - I've read your thread, and just wondered (if you don't mind me asking) why you are having to live in hotels at the moment? Must be quite tough and stressful.

I have a little boy btw who is 18 months old, and I always try and make sure he doesn't irritate other people too much, however as others have said, it's not always easy to get little children to behave like adults.

I wondered this MV, and wondered if it was affecting the OP's judgement on what is considered reasonable.

I'm no food nazi however we are in an obesity epidemic thats snowballing.
the least I(we?) can do is try and set good habits from a young age.

There is a big ( and growing ) school of thought that blames the 'low fat hi carb' diet as the reason behind the growing epidemic of obesity

Research it , the pancakes and bread you serve up quite probably could cause the health problems you think you are guarding against.............actually my husband is living proof that a low carb diet is life changing , dramatic weight loss and more importantly the effect it had had on his blood sugar levels ( type 2 diabetic ) is proof that carbs can seriously damage your health .

I would have given him a poke :D

In fact if someone was complaining or looking like thunder at my kids just for being normal, I would be inclined to let them find out what they really can be like when let off the leash :rotfl:

My DD was crying in the shop yesterday and an old lady was in front of us at the till. She then sat on the bench by the door watching dd cry instead of leaving the shop. As we walked past she started moaning how she hated her crying, it was going right through her and it sounded like she was being murdered and making her nervous. I had to bite my tounge and just walk off. If it was that bad why didn't she walk out the shop instead of sitting down and watching!
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation PN, it sounds like you've been through a hell of a lot.

I really hope you find somewhere permenant very soon, and I can sympathise completely with how you feel based on your aspergers.

    Thank you.

Somebody said earlier in the thread that I should declare my foibles to the readers, so my annoyance was explained.... but I do try to "carry on regardless" and just get on with things without mentioning it :) I try to be 'just like normal people' if you see what I mean :) although that does mean many personal battles each day and a lot of retreating from the world to recover.

Sun's gone in today .... bummer.

Pn, if yu look back to my repsonse you can read that NT me who adores children still can still sympathise from experience of previous situations.

It seems to be true that in uk people are less tolerant of children though i have not seen this recently and i have had lunch out with a toddler a fair few times recently. But its also true that in those countries where children are famously well 'tolerated' ( what a dreadful idea that children are just to be tolerated and not enjoyed) my experience is that they are not allowed to wander round and round a table and that the adults they are sotting with talk to them softly but often so that they are not left to get bored or feel the need to act for attention. Thus they are easy yo enjoy playing menu peepo with, or to ignore, because people are both delighted if you engage with the child, where as here not all mothers are, but the children are generally well occupied and catered for by their families.

Being able to ignore them seems to be a difference. Here they have to be the star of the show.... and if you ignore them you're called all sorts.

    People call you names?

I don't know why you'd want to ignore them, just say, "hello" and "are you having a nice time on holiday?"
    Children are people too :)
