Kids and Small Hotels and Breakfast Time Nightmares

I'd personally think that children of this age eat what they're given rather than being asked to put in an an order but, if in that's what happens away from home, wouldn't it be a good idea to do all this dithering before coming down to breakfast?
When have you ever decided what to eat before you've even sat down in a restaurant?
"All this dithering"......you mean "looking at the menu"? A normal part of any eating out experience.
Do you get out much?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I know precisely what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow and the day after and the day after .... the same as I've had for the last 3 weeks. It's breakfast, there's hardly much choosing to be done once you've seen it once.0

From your posts I am assuming that the hotel that you speak of is a bed & breakfast semi-permanent type of accomodation - if I am wrong, then I apologise.
You are an adult and breakfast is no big deal for you - but here you are talking about children - children who, through no fault of their own are in exactly the same boat as you - needing accomodation/security which they currently do not have - the only power they have in their little lives at the moment is choosing what to have for breakfast!0 -

It would be their dream to be in a hotel and you pick what you want from a load of stuff on a table!
And I wouldn't dream of taking that joy from them.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

My 6 year old is very excited about breakfasts in the B&B, bless him
Cooked breakfasts and different types of egg, different flavours of jam etc. are exciting for me, let alone the children :rotfl:52% tight0 -

So's mine.
. The first time we went to a hotel it did buffet breakfasts, l took him round to see what was on offer, told him not to touch anything and tell me what to get when he'd made his mind up. He chose two sausages and some watermelon, in fact that's what he had every morning. :rotfl:
Last year we went abroad and they had a lower buffet table with the kids meals in, (see they're more family orientated in some countries OP
) and l wasn't allowed to help him serve his meal up. He used the tongs well too, you've never seen such concentration! It took him an age but he did it.

When we go shopping now it takes ages as he has to say Hello to everyone. EVERYONE we pass. Then we we get to the checkout, he has to say Hello to whoever it is on the till and if they don't reply, he keeps saying "Hello lady, Hello lady, Helloooo lady, Hello lady" (or man, whichever, obviously).
Then when we're done, he has to say bye too, and bye to everyone behind us in the queue.
.
Ha ha DS is 20 months and he has to say byeeeeeee to everyone while waving.....I fear I enthused too greatly when he first did it.
He does it when leaving the room, at bed time, going into/out of the garden........constantly

I have never stayed in a hotel that serves fizzy drinks for breakfast, its fruit juice, milk, tea, coffee etc!
Maybe the families are rushing down to try and beat grumpy . . . . like you!?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
To OP: think you mentioned about not being able to get lodgings successfully as you have certain medical needs or physical/mental disability. Have you not gone to the Homeless Dept in your area so they can put you on the housing waiting list as surely, you'll classify as having a certain criterion that places you in good stead to get social housing. It may be a long wait, but if you;re currently w/o an proper home, surely you'll be able to get some help from them?
ps. sorry, if this sounds intrusive, but just want to help. There are certain orgs that offer advice on this. tap in homelessness charities and your area on the net...0
