Morning all! Another lovely day here
Most of the house are still asleep after staying up to watch the opening ceremony
I need to go into town today - my sister's sister is having a baby shower tomorrow, so I need to pick up something for that. Also need to go to Sainsbugs and return an iron I bought the other day - it's a steam gen iron and is useless - frankly a basics/ value iron gets creases out betterNot sure they'll let me return it, though.. However if a £100 iron is beaten by a 3 year old £3.50 iron then something is not right...

Morning everyone
 Mrs Chaos :wave:Bonnie :wave:Lame Wolf
Yesterday didn't happen as I received another letter from the Council Tax people which knocked me down ... I thought that particular ball had left the pile I'm juggling, but heyho
But being a chumbawumba (or possibly a weeble) I'm up and at it today - okay I admit it - tis only because the folks across the road decided to start chain saws up at 8.15am, how very good of them the day after everyone (well, me) stayed up til today to watch the Opening Ceremony....poor budgie was well miffed chuntering at me to turn out the light and GO TO BED!!
Anyway I've actually done something other than declutter tea and toast - with jam on, during Ofsted I NEEDED jam! I've gathered up dirty laundry from every place it was lurking except DS's room and the first load is in WM :j
Usually laundry is the one thing that I am on top of - but I now know what you mean when you talk about Mount Washmore-I think tis a whole range not just a single mountain!
Oh and I took 4 empty carrier bags off the kitchen worktop and put them in the carrier bag carrier bag - iyswim.
Have a good weekend everyone
Rxx
PS I read bits out of the forum to DS yestdi and said 'Can you see why I like these people?' His reply?; 'Yes Mum. They're as mad as you are!' :rotfl::rotfl:IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme0 -
Bossymoo - have a lovely time
Dusty - hope DS is feeling a bit better
Kids are at their Dads today so I have from 11.30 until 2 by myself [DH is working an early shift] I can't even begin to describe how disgusting this house is - if there was a house inspection OFSTED Dept I'd be shut down! Its so bad here I don't know where to start so its a case of picka room and get on with it - I really want to do it today as I have lots of material begging to be made into a quilt - never done it before and I want to give it a go but I'm only allowing myself time to do it if the house is clear so away I go . . . . . . . . .
Have a good day everyone

Ugh. Don't think I'll be cutting the grass. Alternating between blazing sun and showers here, and there are some iffy clouds lurking.
Have swapped the shorts I've got together for the kiddies this weekend for trousers and wellies, is forecast wet all weekend now. Still, wellies and anoraks. They won't melt.
Am sure I ought to be doing something...Bossymoo

Shuddering at the thought of a house Ofsted  I'd be be closed down/put into special measures and judged inadequate.
The quilt sounds a lovely idea Helen, I have lots of crafty kits to get at once the house is straight - nasty little (internal)voice just said i might as well sell em as that'll never happenI've got cross stitch kits and latch hook kits, and never-done jigsaws....mmmm a system of self-bribery/reward is germinating in my addled brain as I'd actually forgotten those stashed treasures.
Right, I'm going to get dressed, rinse and put out some cans for recycling and hang out first load of washing...clouding over here but doesn't really look like rain - fingers crossed.IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme0 -
Morning all
Loved the ceremony last night as did all the kids.
DS3 is feeling a bit better thanks for asking. He still has a temp of about 101 but is eating more and complaining less. Rash is still present but mainly troubling him on his hands now.
House is in quite good shape here. Going to load the DW and WM and pop to Sainbsbugs (£12 off a £60 spend) and to Argos (binoculars for olympic events) and then the day will be paperwork and garden pottering with a bit of viewing (ok a lot of viewing) of the olympics.
Bossymoo have a fab time. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
