People who give answers such as 'No its their fault their speeding etc'. As if you have never hit 31 in a 30. Would you expect others to warn you?

I would always give a flash to warn others, the authorities aren't bothered about a 7 year old getting run over, money money money.

Although that's a bit of a broad generalisation, got to say it agrees with the last time I was caught on camera.

35 just before I left a 30 limit (into an NSL) on this bit of road. I've got as close to the point they caught me as Google earth will allow. For the record, the road on the right is the entrance to Anglesey Aluminium which had closed down about a year earlier so had NO traffic. I didn't !!!!! because I knowingly broke the limit and got caught, and I was brought up to put my hand up if caught out.

A camera van positioned where I was, looking back the other way, might make sense for people coming speeding into the 30 limit and roundabout but they know that locals coming out of the limit, knowing the smelters are closed, will accelerate towards the NSL. It does make you wonder exactly what the "safety" partnership's real priorities are when they point the cameras that way instead of the other!

Where my mum lives eveyone warns each other but the local radio also reads out on the traffic reports where these cameras are. How they catch anyone i'll never know

The other new police favourite is white van man on dual carriageways because most don't realise the limit is 60mph not 70mph, lots will get caught doing 75-80mph thinking they are only 5-10mph over the limit when they are actually 15-20mph.
Are you talking about the UK? If so, the national speed limit on a dual carriageway is 70mph for cars not towing anything.

He said "white van man"-which 60 is the limit.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.
  • If its all about "safety" and how terrible speeding is and not about revenue, why arent they bothered about the thousands of dangerous potholes that litter the country?

For some vans it is 70mph, for larger ones 60mph, depends on the weight AIUI.

I just wish that the authorities would place a camera in my rural village.

    * A huge livestock truck overturned on one bend. Over 200 young pigs were killed immediately, or had to be destroyed.
I'm quite shocked the police didn't put a camera there, if they lost over 200 young recruits to one speeding driver. ;)

So what offence is that then?

The law states obstructing a constable.

Does it? If so, what about a sargeant, or an inspector?

That rule seems a bit outdated now, I'm surprised they haven't rewritten it.
