Camera Vans, do you warn others?
I was driving along a 30mph road this week and noticed a non permanent sign warning of speed checks, further down the road I spotted a camera van facing away from me.
My question is, do you flash other driver's to warn them?
I no longer do. I used to but now I think that if somebody is speeding then they deserve to get a fine. I drive for a living and stick to all the speed limits. Everyday I have people tailgating me because they want to go faster so I've changed my view and think people deserve what they get, it's their choice to speed

No, and it can be illegal. If you get caught warning a speeder that there is a camera near by, you can get done for impeding a police officer in the course of his duty.0

Sometimes, depends on the individual situation, and the way an oncoming vehicle is being driven.
If the trap is a blatant money extraction exercise then yes.0 -

What can you be charged with if the camera is being operated by one of the minions employed by a so-called Safety Camera Partnership?
I'm still waiting to hear what happened to one of them who was done for speeding in his camera van in the West Midlands some time ago."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

That depends, if they're employed by the police then they are still technically officers of the police force but just not constables. You should remember that as you may come unstuck otherwise.
@Op: No, I don't warn others. I can't be bothered and hold the same attitude as you - they choose to do it, they'll have to learn the hard way.
I do however warn people if their headlight bulbs are out and I often flash / hold full beam at those who are trying to blind me with their fog lights.0 -

Yes, me too!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Those who ignore the warning signs and are not attentive enough to see a big white van with orange and yellow chevron stripes all over and black speed camera pictures on it's back doors deserve what they get in my opinion.
Fog lights on at inappropriate times or badly aimed, yes, they're idiots. More so those who have them on in broad daylight trying to look "cool" using them as pseudo daytime running fairy lights.0 -

None of that may necessarily be true though, they don't have to use warning signs, they don't have to have a clearly visible van (the worst have used a horsebox and repainted one of the camera vans to look like a builder's van) and they can catch people up to a 1km away in a third of a second which would mean impressive eyesight to spot a vehicle at that range and even more impressive reactions to get the speed down in time.
I'm in no way endorsing speeding just pointing out that the camera vans are not necessarily easily seen.

I won't warn people of speed vans because that could be illegal. But I'll sometimes give a cheery flash of my lights and a wave when I see a fellow motorist travelling the highway.
Not my fault if they misunderstand my intention.0 -
I never warn speedsters of a camera and would urge anyone else not too either.
Get them off the road.0
