Hi all
I'm glad it's not just me who feels like pubs should be called youth clubs!!!
Glad everyone's having a good day, it's lovely and sunny here and have just hung the washing out to dry
I've been to Mr T's to do my grocery shopping and although I stuck religiously to my list it feels like it's cost a fortune!! Probably cos I only spent just over £27 last week, but this week it's cost me £50.64  Should last a while though and I did buy big pack of loo roll cos there were 4 rolls free in the pack - would probably buy less normally! Also, stocked up on freezer stuff so should cost a lot less for food again next week.
At least, apart from my grocery shop I've spent nothing and am staying in tonight again as OH on nights again:(
Of course you can join us Welshspendthrift, everyone's welcome and there's lots of encouragement on here :T
Good luck everyone, I'm off to do more house work :A

Hi Welshspendthrift - welcome to the thread! Lovely to see more and more people joining in.
Well, I'm feeling a little smug today. I have been keeping a record of everything I spend for a month now and there is a BIG difference in the last week, since I have been doing the 'no unecessary spend' thing and I know I can improve on it further. To actually see the figures infront of me gives me lots of encouragement to keep going. I'm really pleased - more thanks to Chele for setting this up
I don't count eBay postage as 'spending' Nicola, as it will already be covered in your costs to the buyer.
You have, however, inspired me to get my Butt into gear and I'm going to put some bits and pieces up on eBay over the weekend. I hate doing it, but I know it will be worth it. The last time I had a clear out of my clothes I raised over £100
Well done on sticking to your grocery list, Chele - I nearly always slide off the side of mine! I have decided over the two weeks of easter to use up all the things in the cupboards / freezer and I MUST NOT take dd shopping with me; I always give in; not to anything extortionate, but just little things here and there that add up and are not necessary.
So I'm feeling very motivated today, as you may have gathered
Have a great day everyone; the sun is playing in between the clouds here too, but I have a couple of loads of washing on the line happily blowing in the breeze. Nothing beats the smell of line-dried washing

Hi everyone,
Well done to everyone!! I love reading this tread, it gives me so much encouragement!
I've been doing ok, had to buy a stairgate yesterday because DD is crawling about at super speeds now! Although I have been saving for them so only had to put £5 of my money in - and I do class it as a necessary!
DH is a nightmare though! He was at work Thurs evening and spent £5 on a KFC, then on Fri he wanted to stop at Tesco's to buy a sandwich (managed to talk him out of that one!) Then on Fri evening he said he'd sort tea out - actually thought he was going to cook for me! Allas no, he went to the chip shop! Technically this was his money, do you think I can still class it as a nsd?
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend xlightbulb moment Jan 07 - DFW 417!debtwas£32k

Hi again
It's good to see everyone happy today - I do think when the sun shines it makes everything a little bit better
I know what you mean Bigpaws - if I can stick to just budgeted items this month I reckon I'll be able to save £500 + which will be amazing!! :j Have already put away the £60 that I earned last week from selling my dress
I'm doing a car boot sale tomorrow morning with my friend, so am in the process of getting things together for that, off to my mom n dad's in bit to raid the loft which will please my dad. I've only been left home 14 years and he's still asking me to get the rest of my stuff!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Glad you're doing well Mappygirl and yes a stair gate is certainly a necessity in my book!!!!
Have a good night at work Nicola, pleased that you're doing well and Bigpaws is right - postage on items you've sold isn't a spend as they've paid for it so you're doing brilliantly:T
Keep it up everyone

I went to Lidls today to get some groceries....came out with everything I need for a week (except meat, get that from butcher much nicer AND cheaper too!) for......£14.67!!! I would normally have spent double that, easily!
Have just made a bbq marinade, from stuff I already had in the cupboard! Put it on some skinless chicken thighs, cheaper than breast meat but still just as tasty
If its nice I will post the recipe on that other string with recipies that I can't remember the name ofI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Way to go, Taadaa; I find that even though it is cheaper, so much of Lidls stuff is better quality than more expensive supermarkets (I'm talking in terms of things like additives etc)
Have a great time at the carboot, Chele - I'm looking forward to hearing how you do. People around here only want to pay pence for items. What sorts of things are you selling?
Mappygirl, that dh of yours needs a good talking to!
Actually, it might sound weird, but dh and I do our food shopping separately - separate money, separate food. It's the only way that doesn't lead to arguements.
have a lovely evening all. We started to watch 'Little Buddha' last night, but it's 3 hours long, so we're watching it in two lots; second installation tonight!

Hi everyone - haven't read through properly yet - will do so soon! Yesterday (end of term) was frantic...and I spent £9.99 on flowers for a colleague. They should have been planned for, but as they weren't I'm holding up my hands to the spend!
Today was a planned visit to see my georgeous almost five-months-old granddaughter in London (planned for!!!) - and it was a NSD!!!!!! Hope youi're all doing well - I'll check through in a minute - thanks for all the support. Enjoy the rest of the w/e.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
