Hi all hope you are well!
My last day is tomorrow, I have got more money left than I would have but I could have done better - challenge from 1st, 'Do Better!'
Bigpaws it wasn't the intention to go for the festival, we are going on 1st June (so I have exactly a whole month of no unecessary spending to get through!), does that coincide? I haven't been for ages we are going to have a competition at Alum Bay to see who can make the best 'sand creation' I'm getting quite excited what a saddo!!
Agree re new string SF

Hi Claire,
it sounds like you have done well this month. Well, we've ALL done brilliantly, regardless of how much we spent or didn't spend because our mindsets are different and we are noticing any 'downfalls'.
Roll on 1st May - I'm feeling very energised about the whole idea and will be taking note of situations in which I said NO to spending
I have no idea if the festival co-incides with your visit to the IOW; I think I was just trying to sound young and trendy :rotfl:
Enjoy your sand creation; you're not a saddo at all; if only we all shared our quirks

Think I'm going to call it: 'Spending Challenge for May!' is that okay?

Hello! Am shiny and new on here having lurked for some time!
This challenge has really struck a chord with me as I am desperate to stop spending on rubbish but there always seems to be something else to pay for!!
My little 'pot of gold' will be all gone this week after I grit my teeth and use it pay off the last of my credit card debt (£4k) which I know is the right thing to do...but it hurts all the same lol!!
So I need all the help I can get to save dosh now my safety net is gone, so I Wellington Nelly rise to the challenge of not spending through the rest of June - will have to count birthdays as essential tho
TTFN! xxFighting back against the bank, and rising tidal wave of debt - gulp! _pale_

Hello everyone!
I'm so pleased I found this post- this is a problem my and my OH always have. The record being last month (myLBM) that both our paycheques had been 'allocated'/spent in under 72 hours!
Good Luck everyone and I'm looking forward to hearing some tips!My tip would be (although it's probably really obvious to some!) is not to use cash point machine's that charge. I used to take money out at the local shop all the time( literally 20m away) and added it all up- nearly £25 a month!!!No wonder I'm broke![STRIKE]Student Overdraft: £1700[/STRIKE]- now £1650, Halifax credit Card - £3300, Britannia credit card-£2300, Lloyds Credit Card-£1000, Partner's Overdraft- £1500. Vanquis Card [strike]£250[/strike]- GONE!

Hi Catrin! Thanks for bringing this back to life. It is so easy to forget that those £1.50 charges do add up pretty soon. The worst is taking even more money out than you initially wanted to justify the fee. Like, how does that make any sense lol
I am terrible for uneccessary spend any my spending weakness changes each month which makes it even harder to monitor! I have decided to give my credit card to my DD to hide for the monthDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
he, he, that's not a bad idea! Unfortunately it's me that is the apparent 'responsible' one in our relationship. May just give them to the dog to chew up!lol[STRIKE]Student Overdraft: £1700[/STRIKE]- now £1650, Halifax credit Card - £3300, Britannia credit card-£2300, Lloyds Credit Card-£1000, Partner's Overdraft- £1500. Vanquis Card [strike]£250[/strike]- GONE!
