I no longer buy butter, I make it myself from reduced cream. I made 4lbs of butter and froze 3lbs for the grand sum of £1.00 worth of reduced double creamBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Wow, I think I'll be making my own butter too. I am now kicking myself for passing up large tubs of double cream that were reduced to 1p at Mr T's thinking I didn't have freezer space for tubs..Swagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

This thread is an inspiration! thanks to everyone for making me feel better to have £97 in my bank acct to last me until the 28th......I thought I was skint until I read through all these wonderful posts! :j
I read the last post about the YS cream being turned into butter and wanted to give it a go, I was in Morrisons and saw the big tubs of dble cream reduced and got all excited til I realised they go off today (not a problem) but they were still a £1 each!
I was definetly not in at the right moment might go back later.....
Thanks so much folks the thread is a great read!Every Penny's a prisoner :T0 -
evie that is awfully expensive for something that is on its use by date. I find the best ys deals are in Tesco.
No wonder Morrisons is struggling.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

We had a soup and pudding night tonight. I made a celery and white stilton with cranberry soup using the last of the white stilton with cranberry that I had left from Christmas. served with a sliced crusty baguette (2 for £1 in Asda so I will make a mushroom soup for lunch tomorrow and use the second one up)
OMG it was lush, the potato was from the garden, 35p for the celery that was reduced in Aldi and the cheese was a leftover so no cost = 35p plus 50p for the baguette and a splash of cream that I needed to use up so the total cost was 85p and it served four good sized bowls so approx 21p a serving.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
