Thanks for the advice, Upsidedown Bear (interesting username:)). Will buy some and give it a try. We love mushrooms, I add them to pretty much every savoury dish that I cook:j0

Super six
1 kg salad potatoes
fun sized apples
380g Mushrooms
275g Baby plum tomatoes
135g Baby corn
170g snack pack grapes
All at 59p
2 gammon steaks 99p
Meal ideas:
Mushroom tart with a creamy mushroom sauce.........
(We are having it tonight but I have a chicken breast knocking around in the freezer so I will cook it and chunk it and mix that in for my omnivores) Alternatively cook a slice of the "on offer" gammon and dice it.
I am serving it with salad potatoes and Broccoli
Mushroom risotto with a handful of grated cheese
As above but using barley or quinoa instead
Mushroom soup
Mushrooms on toast
Mushroom, mini corn and and potato curry
Stir fried mushrooms with mini corn, julienned carrots, sliced fried onion or spring onions, a chicken breast if you have it and chinese sauce of choice serve with noodles and home made egg fried rice
Mushroom and spinach lasagne
Mushroom and mozzarella lasagne
Mushroom and broccoli lasagne with a cheese sauce
Mushroom omelettes
Mushroom and mozzarella risotto cakes
HM gnocchi with baby corn, mixed veg and mushrooms in a mushroom sauce or tomato sauce
Gammon and mushroom in mushroom sauce with pasta
Mushroom and mozzarella pasties
HM pizza topped with mushrooms and chopped gammon
Or use baguettes for a pizza baguette
Mushroom and tomato bolognaise
Gammon, egg and mushrooms
Gammon and egg pie
Potato and mushroom gratin
Baked bean, gammon and mushroom hot pot
Basically you put a couple of tins of baked beans in an oven proof dish, cook the gammon and cube, add sliced or quartered mushroomsand mix together gently. Cook and slice the new potatoes and layer on the top. cook until the potatoes are golden.
If you can't afford the gammon serve with fried eggs or use a couple of cooked and sliced sausages.
Mushrooms on eggy bread
Mushroom stroganoff
Mushroom and cheddar twists
Mushroom BiryaniBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Some wonderful mushroom meal-ideas there, Butterfly Brain. Thank you:T
We love mushrooms and usually get loads for next to nothing from my local street-market when they are packing up every Saturday afternoon. I'm sometimes stumped for ideas what to use them for but now I've got a bit of inspiration:j0 -
Just thought of another one creamy chicken and mushroom crumble
Mushroom sauce with diced chicken use leftover chicken for thrift in a mushroom and garlic sauce topped with crumble and baked until golden, very tasty.
It is just as good as a mushroom and broccoli crumble
Sliced sausage and mushroom crumble
Bacon and mushroom crumble, but I would use a plain white sauceBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

While all of these are great for a tight spot, what about a long term plan that takes into account your 5 a day, your lean protein, low fat/sugar, complex carbs, all that for long term nutrition.0
