I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi GFN.
I feel lucky, i must admit, but i wish i had a job :( I have just finished my degree, and live in a very rural town with literally NO childcare, so cant even consider working as i have nobody to look after the kids for me.
My next plan to to find a term time only job, and/or become self employed (hence my username).

I need to get mybackside off the sofa and make a packed lunch for tomorrow. I have got strawberries, cherries, crisps, morrisons go ahead style bars (much cheaper than the real thing!) and BLT sarnies ready, so that should keep us going for the day, as well as loads of drink :)
  • We've been finishing off the goodies in the fridge so haven't started yet BUT we're all set for tomorrow.

Taking a salad for lunch and have satsumas, grapes and a banana ready for the mid-morning munchies. Dinner is planned as a veggie lasagne, using cornflour to make the white sauce and only a sprinkle of cheese on top. Breakfast is all-bran and tea. (can't ever eat a bigger breakfast, I don't "do" food until gone 11 :o )

Am also planning on going for a long walk with hubby straight after dinner to stop us sitting watching tv all evening.

Am hoping that by thinking ahead I can make this work! :D

Sounds like thinking ahead will work for all of us!

Food is getting a bit thin (pardon the pun!!) on the ground, and i am determined not to go shopping until Friday (TCs day).

Hello, I have been perusing the various diet threads today wondering whether to join up to ww or slimming world for the umpteenth time, but after reading this I think I am gonna give it a go without giving some enormous organisation my well earned cash. So count me in, I need to lose a lot more than 1 stone though, but this is a great start. I will be getting weighed tomorrow to see what the starting damage is. I am with you all the way. Lets do it. Hopefully healthy eating can be a habit if you do it for long enough.

    hi misseypootle,
nice to have you with us :)
I hate the idea of SS or SW, or anything else that you have to pay for. I just dont see the point when weightloss is a simple calculation of calories in vs calories excpended.
    Sounds easy..wish it was!
  • yeah I know what you mean, the daft thing is I know exactly what I should and shouldnt be eating and the quantities so why arent I doing it then? NO WILLPOWER thats my excuse, so if I could buy some from ebay I would be on a winner. :j

    Morning everyone!
Well, the picnic is packed for our day at the beach, but we are still waiting for my oldest to wake up. Pre-teens certainly like a lot of sleep!

Feeling confident that i can eat well today. I have defrosted some diced chicken to make sweet and sour chicken when we get home later.
I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the sunshine again :)

Me too misseypootle, I'm hoping this group will encourage me to eat less and excercise more. I would never pay to go to a slimming club, not MSE enough for me.
I'm off work for the Summer (I work in a School) and usually find I gain weight over the holidays by eating too much and telling myself it's alright to have a glass of wine or two because I'm on holiday. NO NO I must stop that. Wasn't too bad yesterday food wise and Hubby and I went for a cycle ride into town and back. We're planning to walk or cycle every day, he doesn't need to he's a skinny as a rake, but happily we both love walking and cycling so try and do both when we can.

I'll join the weigh in on Friday but yesterday morning I hit the scales at 14st 7lbs. I'm 5'8". I don't want to lose too much, 1 stone would make a huge difference, and I would be happy being a comfortable size 16. I think if older women lose a lot of weight they can look a bit scraggy (I'm 51)...

Have a good day everyone and don't pick!:D

    Hi guys.
we have had a great time at the beach today. Just got home and am preparing the chicken sweet and sour in a bit :)
I was very good for snacks- the ice cream shop was selling (as well as ice creams, obviously), huge slices of Watermelon for 60p!
So i got the kids an ice cream each, and had a slice of Melon instead :)

I swear that all the paddling in the sea and rock pools must have burnt off SOME calories ;)
Talking of burning, i have burnt my right arm.

Hope you have all had a great day?
