Well done everyone on the weight loss!
I have moved my weigh day to Fridays (the same as everyone else I think) and I have lost 2 pounds since Monday, whoopee, about time too!
I have been good and eaten NO rubbish and drunk no alcohol since camping.
Am setting myself a challenge to eat a vegan diet next week with no alcohol again so it will be interesting to see whether it makes a difference to how I feel.
    Bye,

    hi everyone!

Well, DS is coping well with having his cast on, and we have managed to get out and about a few times, but hardly at all. He is also becoming an expert hopper ;)

I am trying not to weigh until Friday, but its killing me! I feel like i am doing reasonably well- definitely room for improvement, but also not as bad as normal- so hope i see results when i step on the scales next Friday :)

Have taken a step back from MFP as have decided that i dont really want to calorie count. I find the support forums on there really good, but i have always been against monitoring your calorie intake too much, as it leads to obsession..or at least it has that potential. as someone who suffered with an eating disorder many years ago in my teens, i just feel very strongly in 'everything in moderation', and was finding the calorie counting a bit too much for me.

I am blabbering on again now, sorry!

Am planning on increasing the exercise once the kids go back to school, and will be trying out 1 exercise class a week. I cant afford any more than that, as they are £5 a time!

Well done to everyone on your weight losses :)

    Hello WTBSE

Wondered where you've gone on MFP, glad your son is feeling better tho.

I’m the opposite to you, as me calorie counting is whats helping me, but I understand that it may not be for everyone.
I've always eaten badly; I used to eat only once a day but in the space of 2-3 hours I would eat everything I could. Totalling calorie counts of 2500-3000 in a short space of time. It would all be sugar/fat laden and unhealthy, and what has caused me to put such a huge amount of weight over the years and feel so dreadful and lethargic.

I have tried dieting before; but its never worked. I've always gone for really low calorie counts of food replacement diets and have never lasted much longer than a week or too and it that time I felt rough.

I don't think the CC is the most important part of MFP; bar the fact that I have to pay more attention to my portion sizes to reach my targets.
I think the simple act of logging everything I eat is what is working for me. I helps me eat regularly and full meals and I take pride from fixing a 'good looking' day.
My daily amount is 1700 which enables me to have a decent amount of food and still stay under. I have logged in continuously for 36 days; and logged everything I eat and only ever gone over once (and that was by 5cals)

This may change this evening as I am going out to a steak restaurant (for my BFs daughters birthday meal) known for its huge portions!
I will try and be semi good and not eat for the sake of it, but if I want chips and a pudding I’ll damn well have it. Its a rare treat and I want to enjoy it. (TBH I’ll be lucky to stay awake as was up at 03.30 for work!)

But; before tonight I have my sixth weigh in this afternoon
    So far

    Week1 - 2lb
    Week2 - 3lb
    Week3 - 5lb
    Week4 - 5lb
    Week5 - 2lb

I don't expect to have lost this week as I’ve been on really awkward shift patterns. I've been getting up at 03.30, and not getting home until 16.30. I've not had more than 4.5 hours sleep a night, and have not done any exercise (bar my 2mile return commute/walk.
I think my body is feeling a bit temperamental and resenting the lack of sleep (I’m normally a 9hr a night gal) so all I am hoping for this week is to have maintained.

Hope everyone else is feeling happy and positive – this thread has been really quiet recently.

  • I'm the same as amyb, I'm finding the noting every single thing that I eat/drink really reinforces what I'm doing. I haven't weighed myself daily, either, which I used to do, and then think "oh well I'm the same as yesterday, that's a day wasted may as well not be sensible today" :o I'm restricting myself to weighing on a Friday.

I do find it difficult to eat everything that I am entitled to, calorie-wise, frequently find myself under the daily allowance and then MFP tells me I may not lose weight if I don't eat all the calories.

Somehow it seems wrong to HAVE to eat another 250 calories... as the only thing I can think of for that is chocolate/cake and eating that as a daily part of my diet is so very wrong :rotfl:

My jeans do feel looser this week, I have had to hoik them up a few times today, so I am using that as my measure for the time being :)

I am getting a fair bit of exercise too, only walking tbh, but it's all good.

WTBSE glad your son is doing ok. Hope he continues to improve! I can understand you moving off MFP, everyone has to find the method that best suits them, and if it's not for you, it's not for you.

Daisy your holiday sounded like one of mine, eating bikkies LOL. Glad you're back on the straight and narrow again, let us know how the vegan/alcohol free goes :)

    hi all

didn't post a weight loss on friday as my scales battery had gone duff and I had to get one over the weekend. Anyway another 1lb lost. Have bought the Hairy Bikers new diet book and tried the sweet and sour chicken on Thursday, it was delicious. Looking forward to trying two others this week.
  • I weighed myself yesterday and another pound off :j despite me have a drink or 3 on the weekend :D

I've got to start measuring myself, my hips feel a touch smaller and my trousers fit me a lot better this week.

I've got my weigh in tomorrow but have been cheating and jumping on the scales. My weight keeps fluctuating but is above where it was a fortnight ago, despite netball, multiple gym sesh's, zumba & a boot camp this morning!

I started 30 day shred properly on Monday so limbs are aching but in a good way. 8 weeks until Mexico- got to keep going :0)

Well done eveeyone on their losses- keep it up! X
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • Ooh - lost another pound! The vegan diet went well apart from the fact that everyone else's dinner looked much nicer than mine! The no alcohol thing is still going well so will continue with that until holiday on the 24th then can knock it back with a clear conscience....
    Good luck all!

  • Oh help! Daisy the thread killer strikes again! Has no-one posted since the 7th?
Anyway, I've stayed the same weight despite much cycling and kayaking this week but am doing charity cycle ride on Sunday so hopefully will burn a few more pounds off,
    Bye bye!

    Hi Daisy.

I'm without PC atm, and find it blimmin hard work posting on my mobile. (I wish MSE had a mobile sit)

I'm still craking on tho. Today was week eight weigh in and i lost 6lbs so muchly chuffed. Total of 25lbs altogther.
This was my highest lost as well; and on a week i did not exercise. Have been night shift all this week as well.

My intitial target was to lose a 100lb so i'm a quarter of the way.

If you are really upping you exercise you may find the scales don't reflect all the work you are doing - maybe try measuring yourself? BTW i don't do this as its too much effort, but everyone recogmends it.
