:o:o:o:o App Foods order arrived today... and I popped into FarmFoods (newly opened a mile away)... and DH wanted fajitas for dinner and we'd ran out of wraps (an unheard of event in this house!) so I went to Aldi as well.....

Upshot is I've spent a MAHOOOOSIVE amount of money in total so far.... and will have to be good for the rest of the month - although as we're away next week that'll also be quite spendy.... Looks like the last couple of weeks need to be from the freezer and cupboards! (which are all bursting!) :p:p

Hello, quick update! Went out for dinner with a friend tonight, had a lovely veggie burger but luckily that's a separate budget. I did tell OH his various options for dinner but he bought a pizza from Mr T instead ;). I also got 2 pints of milk on the wa home, so all in all, a smal spend of £2.80.

Last night I went to C0stc0 and I bought a pack of 24 tins of beans for £7.83 (I think). They will last us for ages :) so that was a good buy. Today I went to Mr T's. He was kind enough to send me some vouchers a while ago because I had spent some money there ;) and they needed using up, so I did £5 on the voucher exchange and turned it into £10 to spend on frozen food. I also had another voucher for £1.50. My total spend was £12.45 so I only paid 95p for the lot :T

Just a quick update as I am soo pooped.

What a fantastic family day/picnic. JJ - Your Herby bread was the highlight of all the food. DD has requested more to be made and if she can have it at her Birthday lol.

Well stuck to my guns and took food and drink with us and everyone was content and didnt feel cheated. As planned the only item that was bought was an icecream for £1.50 but DH bought that so it dosent count lololol

Just goes to show that a good day can be had by all without spending a penny :)

Well done Jasmin :T Glad you all had a good time, and kept the pennies where they should be :D

We used to do this regularly when our DDs were small, and they never felt hard done by. We just had lovely days out, going to places their friends had never heard of! And we always took a picnic because we couldn't afford to go in anywhere for food.
    Happy memories ;):)

    Logging more spending I'm afraid.
Fruit and veg box - £15 (I've just had a riverford box delivered but this is another scheme that I'm trying to work for me!)
Sainsburys shop £4.97 (cake and few bits for day out yesterday)
Tesco shop £11.17 (cereal for petrol voucher and baby milk)

    Total £31.14

I am still overspending significantly but the good thing is logging it all on here makes me really think how much money I'm spending (and probably wasting), and to see whether my current monthly spend is realistic for us as a family ( 2 adults, 2 children and 5 childminded children). It may be that this month I just find out how much I spend in total and try to cut back next month. I also need a separate budget for childminded children for their milk, fruit, yogs, nappies etc etc.

    Morning everyone.

Just been through my fridge and i have a mass of mushrooms and 2 courgettes that really need using up. I hate them on their own so they need to be used up in something where we can't see or taste them, any ideas? I could only think of using them to make pasta sauce with some tomatoes and herbs etc, HELP.
