We spent £58 so far, but shouldn't need to buy great deal more for the rest of the month as it was quite a lot of storecupboard stuff. Only need soya milk and some fruit at the weekend.
Love and compassion to all x

Hello all - reporting a spend of £7.34 in Mr S today - some lunch items plus watercress for smoked salmon, watercress and horseradish linguine dish.

Also have what I need for Saturday.

Need to stay strong and claw back some of the overspend from last month and am hopefully to dwindle everything down in time for a holiday in Valencia I'm taking in September :D

Tuesday- Mushroom Soup and fresh bread
Wed-s mixed bean chilli and rice/tacos

Would you mind sharing your recipes for the above? I do a mixed bean chilli but I've not found the perfect recipe yet and the other two sound lovely! :D

I'm trying to avoid spending anything on groceries but had to go to Morribunds for dog food this morning. I ended up spending £22.60 on veg and whoopsies, which I could kick myself for, but who can resist a topside rump of beef (steak sandwhiches for lunch and we'll have three rump steaks out of what's left tomorrow night). And then there was the whoopsied smoked mackerel to go with the leftover cream, lemons and dill leftover from dinner last Friday when we had friends around, which has made a fabulous smoked mackerel pate to go with the leftover celery from the cheeseboard.

OH is away for a week from next Tuesday, so much as I love sharing great food and indulging with him, I can simplify my food and live on soup, eggs and beans, which should mean I come in on budget at the end of the month. I'm going to be really cross with myself if I don't, because this morning buying the whoopsies I ended up doing the very thing that I know pushes me over my spending limits. To be fair, I've been avoiding SMs for months, because I know if I go in I'll spend money and we don't need all this stuff. If my sums are right, it means I have spent 58% of the budget this month, and we are only 29% of the way through. Not good.

Having to report the spend here means I can't hide it and pretend I didn't do it!
    Better is good enough.
