Went on a massive cupboard stocking up mission today to Sainsbobs.

Food total = £76.26 had £18.60 in coupons brought total to £57.66 :D
    Household = £2.00
Sneeky christmas present to put away = £3.00
I also bought some big bulky things like pasta and rice, oat milk for my little girl and cereal and have put them away to come out of next months money, that came to £15.21 so took that off my total and have updated my sig to include next month already.

I will be over my GC this month as i'm off on a milk and bread stock up at the cash and carry this coming Sat ( should be around £20 ). The odd bit of Fruit ( i have a lot of tinned and frozen and fruit bowl fit to burst ) i should be set. i have 15 days worth of HM dinners in the freezer, plus YS burgers, and the left over dregs of a bag of chips if i get desperate. Yogs frozen when the ones in the fridge are all gone, frozen sandwich meat. I'm also going to grate some cheese to freeze as i have loads and don't want it to go off, does anyone know the best way to freeze cheese as i've never done it before. Lots of ice cream and ice lollies in the freezer too so that should keep the kids happy over the summer holidays.

I am now going to pledge 7 NSD's as there is simply no reason why i should need to buy anything else, :D

Afternoon. I'm feeling really sorry for myself. :( I couldn't stay out of the supermarket this morning and spent another £15.99. I'm slipping back into my old ways again. I really need to get back on the wagon *grumbles*

Anyway, I'll update my sig now. Have a good evening.

Hello, can I join in? My grocery budget for August starts today and ends on 5 Sep. I usually spend £580 min per month but am aiming to only spend £480 this month. I know this sounds a lot and it is only for 3 adults and 3 dogs, but it does include all food, cleaning stuff, toiletries, dog food, lottery and paper bill. Maybe I should break it down a bit! Anyway today I have spend £15.15 on fresh fish and bread, which also sounds a lot but I will get four meals for 3 people out of the fish and will use the bread today and tomorrow. I MUST get better.
Spend less now, work less later.

Lovely free BBQ lunch at work today but spent money on breakfast and teas. Forgot to check the meal plan and get some meat out of the freezer so choice of eggs/omlettes, sausages or pasta for tea. Will see what DH wants when he gets in. He will probably want something from the shops that I haven't got our a take away;)

I am going to go over budget as I have 12 days left and will need meat, basics and stuff for lunches and only have a little bit of my budget left.

DMIL is bringing me a pack of nappies that I took to her house as she looks after DS at my house now so that should keep him going until the end of the month at least.

Tonight's job is to do a meal plan and shopping list for the next 12 days. It would be fabulous if I could do a shop this weekend to last the 12 days too. I don't know what I would do about fruit though as we would need some the 2nd week. I will get my thinking cap on.

My time is so precious, and life is far too stressful, and thought that some of you may be wiser than me could advise/suggest.... should I spend time making lists, dashing round supermarkets etc or, meal plan spend time cooking properly... Or combine the two.

Meal plans do save time in the long run and it ensures that we are actually eating a reasonably well balanced diet. I use MoneySupermarket.com type in my shopping list and order it from the cheapest supermarket overall and get it delivered at another wise dead time, like when the kids are in bed but before DH gets home, or while the kids are having a piano lesson. I do miss out on yellow stickers but I spend much less than if I actually went to the shop.

Jazee Welcome to the thread. Anyone is free to join in. Good luck with your Money Saving this month.

Hi I grate cheese then just portion it and put in sandwich bags. Haven't defrosted and eaten any yet, but have used to cook with, iyswim, and was fine.

NSD here, same tomorrow. Have a friend coming over for playdate in morning, and I've found tortillas, the frozen cheese, and some ham to make quesadillas, will serve with some baby corn and there's a cucumber in the fridge. Have some kids lollies in freezer for pudding, and if they want to, I have a pack of rich tea biccies they can decorate with icing and sprinkles. All from the cupboard!

Not expecting a GC spend all weekend as I'm going away to a spa with my friends!:T we each put £10 a month in a pot, for our annual girls weekend away. I'm having a mini facial and my nails filed and polished :D
