Spent just under a fiver of the £20 I am allowing myself this week in Mr S last night on basics spuds, basics bacon bits (didn't know they did these), a YS GF loaf and some fennel seeds for that lovely Jamie sausage pasta recipe posted recently. I love fennel:) I will add the total spent out of the £20 when I have been to Mr A on Sat/Sun.

I am very busy this weekend but want to leave my shop as late as possible as I don't need any of the fresh bits until Monday really. Meal plan seems to be working although DH said I don't want pie last night when I had made it so I said well you will have to make something else for yourself as this has been defrosted and needs to be cooked now. Funny how he ate it after that;)

On the way home from Mr S my clutch went and I am now skinter than a skint thing as my holiday savings will have to go towards the parts to repair it. I am so glad I married a man in the trade as otherwise the car wouldn't be worth the parts and labour cost of mending it.

I am sick as a chip though as I have been trying really hard to raise/save some extra money this month:(

Aw poor you on the car front :( btw it was me who posted the pasta recipe, and it's seriously yum, though I'm not super keen on fennel so might give that a miss next time - if you like fennel you'll love it though!

No spends today or yesterday. I'm having salmon tonight with new pots and roasted veg. OH had some his frozen leftover leftover arrabiata sauce from last week with roasted pepper and chorizo ad spaghetti. Was supposed to go out with a friend after swimming tonight but she cancelled, will save me money though and avoid undoing the swimming with fatty restaurant food :rotfl:

I'm in for this month. Lost track a bit towards the end of last month and was probably about £20 over my £150 budget, still not too had though.

This month (27/7-29/8) I'm setting my budget at £120! Less than last month because I'm not including meals eaten out this month, they'll be coming from the summer holiday entertainment fund instead (£200).

I'm having an £150 petrol budget again, was well under last month but more days out this month. That said we've moved house now and its already looking like a very good move, dd has carrot spent anytime actually in the house, she's spent hours on end playing outside which I'm over the moon about, she couldn't play out where we lived before and it was a big reason for moving now she's 8. Its also a very cheap way to keep her entertained!

I've spent £28.37 so far, however on checking my Morrisons receipt today I think I've been overcharged 50p on some bin bags. I've never had this before (more likely have never been that vigilant in checking before!) so I guess I have to go back to the store for a refund? Seems a lot of effort for 50p, but then when I think about what that 50p could buy! Although, it might cost me almost 50p in petrol, its not my usual supermarket and I don't think I need to go over that way for anything else either, decisions decisions!

Well I've realised that I am rubbish at not spending money! Another spend at SM of £20.66 (went to shop as got huggies nappies plus free wipes offer, put that as second purse shop) plus £1.59 on corner shop bread (that'll teach me not too bulk buy and have it in the freezer) and £2.35 on cakes.

    Total today £24.60.
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600

It is hard, but i'm getting better, simply writing everything down every day and obsessivly checking receipts etc has made a big impact, my budget cover all food and drink consumed by us, be it the occasional take away, ice cream on a trip out.

It's been hard since their dad left me, but i'm taking every day as it comes and learning a lot from being on here.

You're all so helpful, and even though i may not post every day i am here lurking, :D

(hugs) XSpender my clutch went the last year and it ended up costing me £700 :( I feel your pain. I hope things pick up for you soon.

On a positive note, I just checked my clubcard vouchers on Mr T's site and discovered I'd £5 in unspent vouchers. That will do nicely :D I think I'll put a quid to it and buy meat, parcel it up and freeze it. Got my normal vouchers through today and got another £4, so will add a quid and take advantage of the 3 for £10 on meat trays, I think!

Beyond that, have added £13.56 to my GC tally. Really need to get a few NSDs in... Tea tonight is probably going to be a Black Bean Chicken with Noodles, using chicken thighs to make it a little cheaper. Hope everyone has a lovely evening - am off to update my sig.

    K xx

    Hi
Frozen Food is in the clubcard exchange at the moment so you could turn your £5 into £10 frozen food voucher to get Some frozen meat. Hth :money::money:

    Morning all :)

If you spend £6 on ANY cereals at Tesco, you get a 10p off a litre petrol. :j

That means if you fill up with 50 litres, you get a £5 off

That is the same as just spending £1 on the £6 of cereals.

Last night I bought 10 x Value cornflakes (they are really good) @ 31p = £3.10 and Tesco wheat biscuits 48 pack £2.90 and it generated a voucher at the till :j
