Oi NickJW I can't believe you thought it was me! :rotfl:

Well done on your mr w meat freebie by the way

Sorry :o I was looking at the post and thinking 'what's wrong here'? At least I read your post thoroughly! :rotfl:

Anyway - spends of £1.41 + £7.69 = £9.10 in Mr W - mainly on veg + basmati rice because I'll be doing 3 rice meals this weekend and wasn't sure if I would have enough (turns out I will do - oh well!).

Meal plan for my cooking days:

Tonight will be pasta with creme fraiche, bacon, mushrooms and chives (from the garden) with a splash of sherry
Tomorrow will be pork fillet with paprika, rest of the creme fraiche, tomatoes served with rice and brocolli
Sunday- Chicken marinated in lime, soy and honey with peppers, spring onions and a cashew and coriander rice
Monday - Chicken biryani with coriander

Have my ready meals from the Mr W doubled up delivery for lunches and Special K for breakfast.

Tuesday - Thursday my housemate will cook, so I should...in theory...be spend free for a while! :)

2 NSDs for August so far :j also received a £3.99 refund for an inappropriate substitution in the Tesco delivery, so I'm going to deduct that from my total for the month so far.

Well it was a nsd for me today, and we had the roast pork I got on us yesterday. It was selfish! 1.5 kg for £3.50! We used only a tiny bit of it and there's enough to slice up and have another six or seven main meals! Result!

Had a lovely time at a friend's for lunch. I took some cucumber, cherry toms, carrots and choc cake towards it. She had already done toms and carrots, but she used my quarter cuc and we had a all bit of the cake, and I went home with my toms, the rest of the choc cake, my carrots and a whole cucumber which she had bought for us! Crazy!

We may not be going out for the day as planned tom, as the weather looks rubbish... Shame as I've already cooked the picnicky stuff! Oh well, it won't be wasted.

    Night all

Why not have a living room picnic PG? Picnic blanket out, all sit on the floor with the food and a board game. The kids will still love it. x

Just milk as a planned spend today. I will send one of the kids to the village store for it. It costs more than Lidls price wise but it means I can not spend anything else. :)

I have taken out some scones this morning that I will add jam and whipped double cream to later for the kids. YS 3p each. :o
I have also pulled out some buns for lunch. I will make some of the left over chicken from yesterday in to coronation chicken. It is jubilee year after all.:rotfl:
It will just be a light salad for dinner after all that stodge.

I hope everyone has a low or no spend day.

Lidl weekly shop yesterday as OH off camping today. £80.45 so has been better but still much less than mr t. But then oh needed elastic for tent poles so a trip to mr t. No threading elastic yet £21 at checkout. Grrrrr. And nuffink in the RTC areas to redeem the situation. Then admission from OH £14 spent at lunch time on water carrier and midge repellent. August has had a self-inflicted expensive start!

Ah, Saturday. Today is "get organised" day for me. On Saturday I sit down and plan my meals for the following week, check what's in the freezer and work out what else I need to buy. A bit later (probably with a cuppa and the Olympics on telly) I'll sit down and get sorted. My mealplans run from Monday to the next Sunday and today's and tomorrow's meals are sorted. When done, I'll update the mealplan thread and send the mealplan off to a couple of friends as well who like to get ideas but I'm not sure they venture on here yet.

    Wow I can ramble.

Anyway, today we'll be having chicken & ham pie for tea, and probably again tomorrow as we can't resist the leftovers :D It should be an NSD today as I have no need to go out at all. Hope everyone has a good day.

    K xx

NickJW- You wrote what I thought, but sufficiently before me that others had responded. Poor old Thrifty! I kept thinking "what's wrong with that; has she been hacked?"

I always read your meal plans and think how lovely they sound. You are more adventurous than me. I'm going to do what Pennygrabber does and try a new thing at least once a month as I am so bored with my regular things.

Whatever we have will involve courgettes, runner beans and potatoes - all from the garden (and the first tomatoes are turning orange - that's the variety, not a mutation :rotfl:).

Your fortunate double delivery from Mr W is why I still shop there as my favourite place. Their customer service is second to none in UK. If I ever take anything back they refund it and give me the replacement free. I had Turkey crowns on order for Easter one year and they cocked it up and ended up giving me three whole turkeys for free (I was cooking for loads but this was fantastic). Take and enjoy your good fortune with no guilt> You are a loyal customer and to be valued.

    Have a great week (everyone)

Small additional spend in T's of £6.89, bringing monthly total to date to £13.06. Got cans of pop (on offer and DH and DS1 were going to cinema and so was much cheaper than the drinks there!), box of malteasers (likewise), rtc chicken, energy drink, Doritos, a pack of rolls and mint sauce - lovely offers, coupons and yellow stickers keeping it all down :D

Month would be going fantastically well..... except I made the mistake of going of AF to take advantage of the £5 for 50kg delivery offer..... almost £70 (inc delivery) later.... I'll add the total when it's delivered, as sometimes something ends up out of stock. Still, lots of tinned toms, treats, pasta and toiletries for my money :D:D Now just need to make sure the rest of the month doesn't run away with me!
