Hello
I set myself a budget each month but these last few i've been over, so thought popping back to the GC might help me a little

Could I be put down for £400 again please? Seem to be getting the hang of this now. Even when I do go over, it's not by much where as a year ago I was going over by £100 + most months and spending nearly £600 every month.

I have just subscribed to thread and will be reading avidly, but my August is going to start 15th August when I get paid.
I need to go shopping today, I am hoping that when I do my last Calender month shop today for July I should come in under £400??!!
The 1st 15 days of August will be limbo, I'll just keep spending to a minimum then join in proper.
My friend wants me to make a Mars Bar tray bake for her running club, it'll only cost about £7 if I stick to own brand and value, am I mean that I'd like her to pay? I don't have anything to do with her running club and I'd expect to pay someone if I asked them to do it forme.
Another quick question, where would I get best value white ready to roll icing, I'm doing my MIL a 60th birthday cake, have got coloured sugar paste in the sale in hobby craft, but white was still expensive? It's for a 9 and 6 inch square 2 tier.....
Thanks and good luck everyone xxGrocery Challenge Target £400!!

Only if I succeedIt's deliberately on the low side to keep us on track. So far this month we spend significantly more than that, more like 150-175ish by the time the month is up, so it's not as impressive as it might seem
The cat costs barely anything also, as we buy her food in bulk and have a lot for a while yet so just litter on top of that. We don't have meat, eggs or dairy but some of the relacements buy sort of even it out to what we used to spend before e.g. our soya yog is more expensive than value plain and a pack of tofu is a price equivalent to cheap mince.
Also maybe should have said my cleaning products generally include laundry liquid and washing up liquid (and both of these are Ecover which seem to last ages), vinegar and Simple Green which lasts ages because it works brilliantly even well diluted. Toiletries are value/basic toothpaste, soap bars and soap flakes for mixing own gel wash with boiling water and a body lotion from the gift giving backlogs, and shampoo bars (which last ages) and a basics pack of toilet roll every fortnight. So apart from toilet roll, both cleaning and toiletries might not appear on our list for a whole month.Love and compassion to all x0 -
Holymoly idd the year is speeding along. Been very bad at keeping track again in july though most of good habits have stayed. July was an expensive month though with holibags so suspect i did a bit of burying my head in the sand :-(MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Please put me down for £320 my month runs from 30th July - 27th August.
It's my first time posting on the GC but I do try to stick to a budget. Thought if I joined in I may manage to stick to it a bit better. We are a family of 3 adults, 1 teenager and 1extra adult (daughters boyfriend) two days a week.
I'll be back posting when my month starts. Really looking forward to this.Grocery Challenge - Sept £205.56/£350.000 -
Hi. I'm new to this challenge. Could you put me down for £250 please? That is for 1 adult and 1 child. We are returning to the UK after living abroad so I will have to spend some money stocking up on essentials and cleaning stuff (mop, broom, etc). My month starts on 01-08-12...............................................................................
