Ironing - love it or hate it?!

I hate it, and I currently have a basket full of stuff that needs ironing (its really too creased to be hung up/put away like that) and its been there so long that in reality I probably don't need any of it (I've done without the clothes in the basket for at least 6 months I think).
I hang all my laundry straight out of the washing machine onto the line/airers, then fold up and put away when dry.0 -
Real hankies! Eeeeww! The thought of crispy boogers going round and round my washing machine gives me the boak!0

I bought a tumble dryer so I'd hardly ever need to iron. Hubby has to iron his own shirts though, they haven't invented the truly 'iron-free' shirt yet - one day, maybe! If anything of mine doesn't come out of the dryer ready to wear, it just doesn't get worn again. Hate ironing with a passion.11th Heaven prizes Number 103

I love ironing, I've got a nice big board to get as much of the clothing on it and a steam generator iron that takes so much effort out. My sister even irons her tea towels and underwear but I don't stretch that far.

We don't own an iron, there is nowhere to store an ironing board in this house anyway. I don't think anyone has ever noticed that we don't iron anything, so it boggles my mind as to why people waste time doing it. The only thing I can think of that you'd need to iron is proper cotton work shirts/blouse, but neither of us need to wear those to our jobs.0

Definitely get a steam generator iron.WashingTime wrote: »Butterfly - you might have hit the nail on the head. My iron's pretty rubbish so I should probably invest. Not sure if I'll go for one of Steph's steam generating one's tho.
I HATED ironing and, whilst i won't say I now loove it, the steam iron made SUCH a difference. I've been ironing pants, bedsheets and face clothes... first night I got it, I was even taking things out of the drawers to iron

It now takes less than a minute to iron school shirts and the pretty but stupidly fiddly dresses for my daughter. Wouldn't go back

Some of your excellent suggestions got me thinking...
I'm doing a course on marketing and business and for a bit of coursework I have to research a business niche. Some people mentioned running or using washing / ironing services in their replies and I think that's the one!
I'd be enormously grateful if you have 2 minutes to complete the simplest survey ever!!! It's all done online and pain-free.
I'm not sure whether I can work out the technology to link from here so please pm me and I will send you the details and hopefully I can get close to a decent number.
Many thanks in anticipation of your wonderfulness!
