So here we are again, a start of another new chapter
A quick recap for any newbies who've stumbled in here ...
I've been around here for a few years now, my only debt is my mortgage but I feel at home here and could very easily end up in debt if I don't micromanage my finances, so I like to think of myself as a dfw
I'm a single parent with an almost 9 yr old son, I have a very nice young toyboy in tow
, I work p/t in a school, have an ex who gets released from prison next week who is the bain of my life, and this diary will be another full of inane ramblings about very little of interest but it helps me stay on track
As the title suggests though this one will be quite different from the previous ones; namely in that as my mortgage free mission was due to end next August (my 40th) and currently it is nowhere near on track due to various unforeseen circumstances, I have spent a while rethinking my plans ...
as I haven't had any csa payments for over 2 years now I am finding things a bit tougher financially, but the main difference is my new man and the realisation that I want to live a little more now
So, for now my mortgage free mission is on hold :eek: :eek: and instead any spare money that comes my way will be going into a savings pot which will be spent :eek: (not a thing I'm familiar with doing) :rotfl:
This summer, ds and I are going on our first foreign holiday and I can't wait, assuming all goes well it is something I will want to repeat next year, so that will need to be budgeted for.
I haven't been up to my usual ocd standards with my money recently, so tonight is going to be spent doing two things;
1. checking every financial detail and getting a clear picture of where I stand with my money
2. writing one of my lists of things to do over the summer holidays (mine officially began 4 hours ago) ... 6 weeks of no work, BLISS

So, welcome one and all, and let's see what this next 12 months bring me

I've made a start on my finances tonight but am too sleepy to concentrate on them properly. Never mind, I have six weeks to get them done

Tomorrow morning is housework and maybe some finances stuff, then off to a friends for a bbq in the afternoon
