The bank was "Smile" (0870 the bank) although I was really looking for a general way round these extra charges when i have plenty of credit (not just a solution to the bank call). I don't call my bank often but most months there is something or other (esp directory enquiries) where I need to call from mobile so if there was a general solution I'd be chuffed!
I don't think there is such a thing as free directory enquiries any more, in fact they charge a premium, but if you've got the time just use wap.thephonebook.com (takin from one of Martin's tips)

If it is non-sense, you show me a 07744 access number that has been inclusive and staying charge-free for the past 3 months.
My friend, all these calling business run on probability, not just per se plan - take my word it, may be it sounds nonsense.
why do you keep on asking for a working access number, do you work for an operator that wants to block them or something.save me money not time0 -

YourCall would like to inform customers of an important announcement.
What is Changing
T-Mobile recently announced plans to change the way it treats calls to 07744 & 07755 access numbers. This change means calls to 07744 & 07755 access numbers will no longer be included in your bundle of cross network minutes from 1st June 2007.
