if she won't let you comb her, whens she's asleep, if you 'massage' her around the ears, under her chin and in her front ' arm pits' you'll feel the fleas as little lumps. pinch in your thumb and finger and pull it out of the fur. i do this with my cats, and they love the massage!Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

Im starting to realise just what sort of start to life this poor puss has had, the replies regarding the flea issue have been very much in a "she's yours now" kinda way, as when I found that 1 flea I let her know and suggested she check the others, she just replied with "will do, thanks"
She's laid here next to the laptop now, seems very content and hasn't scratched for a while now, Ill be picking up a flea comb tomorrow and starting the routine on that, and I've had a look on the pets at home website for Indorex...according to their website they dont sell it
By next month she will be on a health plan at the vets and everything will be covered over the year and she will be well looked after
Splat has well and truly fallen on her paws, I bet she will be spoiled rotten! :A Just be glad you didn't get that tiny Gumtree kitten, things could have been do much worse. If a breeder lies about when they flea treated, the infestation can worsen and the new owner is stuck. My girl is an ex-stray from a (lovely) friend of a friend: no fleas or worms but terrible ear mites.
Naughty tortie just like your gorgeous one! :happylove

aww thank you.......spoiled rotten..she's gonna be like a queen if i carry on the way I've started :rotfl:She's got enough toys to last a life time, I got her bed for her but she prefers the sofa, (my fiance's spot...lol) i see a lovely fleecy blanket today and just had to get her it! lol not that she's even noticed it lol
Im going to gradually change her food too as she's been fed on supermarket kitten pouches! I bought some so I know she will eat when in her new surroundings and over the next few weeks I will slowly be moving her over to much better food than the crap she's been given!
I have a video on my phone im going to try and upload of her playing earlier this afternoon!
aww miss lulu is gorgeous!!! hehe:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

She's an amazing little calico - lucky you - nice to have light colouring round her eyes
IF you can trust the people you got her from then the treatment will work and the dirts to fall out of her fur eventually - but why not start combing her fur gently and get them out while looking for stowaways - combing can be part of bonding with you and have a strip of cellotape ready in case you need to trap any jumpersYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

aww thank you!
I will start combing her tomorrow once I have a comb! She has been a asleep for a while now and not a twitch out of her, its lovely just watching her resting so peacefully, compared to how she was earlier with the scratching ... it was really horrible to watch her scratching like she was!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

oh... she needs a mate
it's no more trouble... but twice the joy....0 -
Oh my gosh, she is the cutest thing ever! The shape of her head is adorable. That sounds funny, but you know what I mean, it's so round hahaWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

Get her accustomed to regular baths and having the feathers at the back of her legs trimmed short.
She's going to be a right Ms Fluffyknickers when she grows up, and any little tummy upset can result in a quite shocking amount of nastiness in her fur.
I have the adult version. And it's not an explosion in a cat factory that they look like, it's an animal made up of the bin bag of cat parts.
ETA: nearly forgot. Get a metal toothed comb, the plastic ones are rubbish and too scratchy on their skin. And make sure the glass contains incredibly hot water, it's better for flea despatch.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Awww I've just set her up in the hall for over night all her toys scratch post food water bed and her litter tray is in the bathroom which she is also next to but she's really meowing n I feel terrible
I can't let her in the bedroom especially with the flea issue, I might go turn a light on for her maybe that will help? I can't leave her in the livin room alone yet I'm worried she will get behind the tv n chew the wires I don't want her to Hurt herself
