Police probably got a tip off from a neighbour or they had spotted him earlier in the day.

They had insurance. Yet a bent copper decided to meddle
and have it cancelled where there was no grounds to have
    it cancelled..

Yet, you would know this, if you read the thread before commenting

    exactly that is what happened

Well they'll need to get a new policy as the car won't be released on that one. Is that simple enough for you?

This is just another anti police thread with the op only wanting people like you to agree with her.

my son got his car impounded for no insurance or tax he had just got it motd .

he took it for a spin round car park to see if the rattle was still there after putting tie on wheel and mud flap

anyway he was going to tax it and insure it monday .

his girlfriend changing her car insurance that is for both of them from her car to his but saturday the police took it. son was not in the car when police got to the car he was back in the house but came out after seeing police by his car .

on monday his girlfriend insured the car sons car from 11am her car till midnight last night .

then she was gonna scrap hers.

yesterday taxed it with insurance document went to police station with insurance doc, tax, log book.

they spoke to his girlfriend and phoned insurance company dont know what the police woman said but they cancelled her insurance saying she hadnt told them car was impounded.

but she had so now she is stuck 8 miles from home with no insurance thanks to the police .

when she got home rang the insurance who listened to the tape of her ringing up to insure and they said she did say car was impounded but should never of insured it . ?

is this catch 22 and my son will never get his car out and now she has no insurance any ideas folks please ?

yes that is right i never said he was covered on saturday
  • i retract.

so, ask youson to recall the coversation between him and the officers at the start of coversation.

because of certain policy's excluding the use of the policy to remove an impounded vehicle especially on a direct debit scheme where it can be cancelled the next day after vehicle release, the officer was justy following a line of enquirey, as this may have been going through her mind, ok sons car GF get a policy and all of a sudden the cars out back on the road potentially to be driven about and the direct debit cancelled. the insurers stuck to their policy wording, and looked at other declarations such as pending convictions and surely your son has been given a NIP for no insurance 6 points £200 fine wich will be pending.

GF declairs the impounding but insurers got it wrong, and declined cover so your beef here is giving a manager a talking toi and asking for a letter to say that they had infact reviewed the phone call and as a good will gesture allow her to continue cover and allow her permission in this case to have her car released using that policy.

in my opinion had GF paid the whole some of insurance (annually) the tone may have changed as they would be satisfied that the policy is paid up and your intention is to keep it insured.
