My computer, telly and DVDs - I don't have sky or any other subscription to cut back on! On the food front, chocolate treats, crisps, and no-sugar fizzy drinks. I have switched to MSE versions or special offers on the foodstuffs though, and normally buy DVDs second hand on Amazon.

    VM cable TV and internet.

We rationalize this is permitted to stay in our budget because neither one of us drinks and we don't host parties or go out, and we don't have take-aways, and we haven't been out to dinner as a couple since the one time we went for DH's 50th birthday in 2002, we gave up the car four years ago - so in all honesty, this is our sole luxury item and our entire entertainment allowance. It doesn't seem so much when we think about it like that.

OH would definitely say wine, and I suppose I agree.

Shoe shopping!! The shame... (she says, while the pair of Kurt Geiger heels she just bought in their online sale - £130 down to £35!!!!!!! - sit in the centre of the living room floor being admired and adored...)
  • Yorkshire Tea - we live in a hard water area and it's the only way I can get a decent brew! The stuff specially formulated for hard water is even more expensive than the ordinary tea bags, but it'd have to be seriously bad times before I stopped buying it altogether.

My treat money of about £100 a month (£10 a week for bits and bobs and £60 for clothes etc).
  • Liz Earle cleanser. I've run out and I just can't bring myself to buy more, but it's the only thing which keeps my face clear! I'm using DH's ATM as he received it in a set and does not use it. I've got about 1/4 teaspoon left :-( Might have to dip into Rainy Day pot.
